Shipping to me in GA for the mega pack is only $9.90. I'm debating whether to get it or not... I like that poster (there are only 200) but don't really have any need for an album cover.

Yeah, $23.01 is a little pricey for that poster but I just couldn't resist having the poster and vinyl, so I bit.

$60 there, now to buy my $16 plus "convenience" fee tickets for the show with Rooney.

Eisley, you better love me SOOOOOOO much Laughing

Feh!
I just ordered from the site.
Hope it's more beneficial to Eisley than ordering through Amazon.

Bands don't make any money from album sales...

At least ones that are selling under a million copies, as far as I know.

Then why not just give away the digital music?
Or sell it for cheap and focus on the money-making side of being a band?

well technically the writer of a song gets a mechanical royalty for every song sold. so that would mean eisley gets money. however royalties are usually due first to the label who financed the project (i dunno in this case if the cost was transferred to EVR) and then once they get past that point, the artist makes money. so the number of songs/albums sold really does matter.

also, i'm sure that there is a cost difference between what the artist makes at amazon vs makes selling on the road/their own merch store. i know i make a bigger profit margin on selling cds in person than those that i sell thru cd baby because of the cost of having a middleman. i imagine the same goes for eisley here.

i'm just wondering - is the band going to be selling the album during the upcoming tour...before march 1st? or will they hold off until the release date?

I didn't care, I paid because I like 'em too much not to. That said, few bands may make any money from album sales, but it does cost money to make albums ... so that's where it all goes until it's paid. At least that's my understanding of the industry ...

I pre-ordered the CD/LP bundle. They had a media mail shipping option for $4.77, making the total $29.76.

I can't justify spending $25 more for the litho, as cool as it is. To me the vinyl > litho. If the mega bundle was $35 or $40 I would have totally gone with that package, but they are pricing the lithograph as more valuable than the vinyl, and I just don't see that...

I was really hoping that the shirt would be included in the biggest bundle, I really dig both the $#@! and the litho, and I wouldn't mind shelling out some more cash for both, but it doesn't appear to be an option Sad.

but, similar to the OP, i've been tempted to buy cd's off dftba records, but never have, because it costs round about ten dollars seemingly no matter what you get (i seem to remember that two vlogbrothers tshirts cost the same for shipping as one - i saved a friend some dosh, there!). think i'll write them an email.

Hmm...I've always been pretty impressed with DFTBA shipping costs, but I do live in the US, so that might change things.

I'm not pleased with the $10 shipping for the mega-bundle, but I bought it anyway. I think it's worth it for what I'm getting and for the fact that it's getting here before the release date.

I now have a $4.38 Media Mail option for just the vinyl record. $21 total is still more than I typically pay, but now I'll probably buy it from Equal Vision instead of Amazon (assuming they will carry it eventually, which they might not).

^Job well done. It pays to speak up and go through the necessary channels. Social media has it's perks I guess.

I have no problem with the shipping cost. It was $11 to ship the mega bundle to Canada. I just bought a record off of Ebay and it cost $9 to ship it here from the States.

+1

I think it's pretty cool that they added options for you. I doubt Warner would ever do that.
