Nope. I can't agree.

I just listened to Room Noises in the dark at a pretty strong volume, and I still think it's the crown jewel. Try it again for the first time. Smile

I definitely dig The Valley, though. Don't get me wrong.

I'm not sure what kind of longevity The Valley will have...Right now, I'm trying not to over-listen, because I often do that with new albums, and even with Eisley, I've been known to play certain songs so often that I actually need to take a break for a while. There are some songs I've been skipping (mostly "Smarter" and "Kind," the former because it's been over played and the later because it feels like a let down where it is on the album).

So for now, Room Noises is still my #1. Never gets old. Time will tell with The Valley. I like a lot of the songs on The Valley better, and I think it's a technically better album, and more cohesive, and blah blah blah. But it doesn't have the flow that a "favorite album" requires.

Eh. I still love it to pieces.

After hearing the album I wish I heard it back in '04, '05, or even '06 when I was obsessed with the band. I can agree that it's certainly their best effort and best creation as a band but...

Well I'm enjoying it and that's enough. Great job, kudos, and the rest.

Yes, I agree that I think technically it's probably the most cohesive album, and there's hardly a song I skip (which is a feat), but...

There are more songs on Room Noises that give me more "feeling" and excitement because of the uniqueness. It's all good though.

It took me maybe two years to get tired of Room Noises, and to be honest... I'm still tired of it. The Valley is definitely, for me, the most cohesive album they've put out yet. I still miss Eisley from the EP days, but this will have to do.

It's the first album of theirs with songs I avoid.
But it also has like my top 3 Eisley songs on it.

I agree.

On one hand, I think this album contains some of the strongest songwriting yet. On the otherhand, there is just something so nostalgic about Room Noises that puts it on its on own level. To be honest, I really only dig the Stacy songs on the Valley (and I wish). I liked Sherri's writing more back on Room Noises. But that's just me.

I love the Valley and it's definitely their best effort, but I can't see any album ever taking Room Noises out of my all-time favorite album spot.
