When Stacy is going through the box we see old photos of pre-zombie Sherri and .... ballet slippers? Is this foreshadowing for the next video? If the next video features dancing Duprees, just remember I called it. Raucous rump shaking is an Emo antidote. As long as they stop short of Weston in spandex and/or tutu I think it would be a nice break from mope music videos. Ah, but which song ...? _________________ |

Thanks for the link. Apparently the young Duprees had dance classes. I'm thinking sailor hats and tap shoes for Garron and Weston in the next video. _________________ |

Post subject: Ha! Didn't I say they should call the album Smarter? ;)

Okay, all jokes aside, my money is on them repeating the releases in the order we first heard them. Remember that Smarter and Kind were the first two songs out the gate when they made the initial presentation to WB. They were also the 1st two they unleashed on us. After that came The Valley and Ambulance. The album is FULL of OBVIOUS SINGLE-WORTHY material, but if I were Label Mgmt. and trying to follow up Smarter with songs that will build that demo and get folks amped to come out to live shows and rock out, it would be Sad, Better Love, and Mr. Moon. When I think about it now, the Valley is like two really good EPs, one that rocks, and one that's a head nodder. Both Stacy and Sherri can write in either style, so for me it doesn't bias me towards one sister on the other. I will say this though: When the Velvet Teen announced that their follow-up to their Debut LP would have NO guitars, just Piano, Strings, Bass, & Drums, I was like , but it Elysium (a 38 minute EP) was excellent. I'm wondering what would happen if Eisley decided to do an EP sans keys, roads & the sisters only wrote songs on Electric guitars? _________________ yup, that's my name. So you don't like Smarter, Kind, The Valley, Ambulance, Sad, Better Love, & Mr. Moon That's like only 4 songs left or something... Watch It Die I Wish Oxygen Mask Please are the only ones I didn't name. They really let you down this go around. j/k I wouldn't be surprised if they roll out the 1st for songs we heard since 09' but we'll see. What songs were on the sticker on the album again (I know Oxygen Mask was). _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. I'm smarter than you .... I'm smarter than you think... Ahhh, why so much trouble with the selection here? Everyone already sick of it? You know it's not just that she's saying to her ex that she's smarter than he thinks, but she is going further and saying that he isn't all that smart. Which seems about right from what I've seen and makes me smile every time I hear it. As for the video, what exactly did you expect? Low budget, nice coloring, good sound, no editing problems. the Duprees... The video doesn't make sense with the song? That's fine with me. You're looking for plot? See this is why video killed the radio star, as the song went a generation ago. You want a plot? Slap on your best set of headphones, close your eyes and imagine your own plot in your head. The music is the art, not the video! The video is just a secondary means of getting the art out there to the masses. I liked it. |

By the way Watch It Die live has a new little touch to the background vocals on the hook that is SOOOOOO poppy, but so perfect. _________________ yup, that's my name. I expect a lot of filmmakers, and probably a few musicians too, would take umbrage with your assertion that a music video is not art. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Well then, let me rephrase that -- in MOST cases, the music is the PRIMARY art form and the video in MOST cases is the means of promotion. |

Yeah, I understand the promotional purposes of music videos, but I don't see why that should preclude making an effort at creating a unique, interesting, and meaningful stand-alone video, or expectations of such from fans of a particular musician. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

hey whatever happened to the days when people would make a song just for the video concept? _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing...
