Okay, the title is worded weirdly.
Anyways, I'm kind of an Eisley noob. I've been listening to them for quite a while, yet I am just now matching names to faces. The only thing is that I can't figure out the difference between the singers' voices. Only Sherri and Stacy sing, right? Could someone tell me the songs where each has the main part?
Thanks. Wink

Here's an old video that clearly provides the distinction between the two:

Welcome to the forum! The more you listen, the easier it will be to tell. And watch live videos or good acoustic sessions like what sebas posted. Going through every Eisley song line by line to say who sings which part would take forever (though I expect Nora has it all written out somewhere!). Chauntelle also sings a bit (the bridge on "I Could Be There For You" and the chorus of "Watch It Die," as well as harmony on the recorded version of "Just Like We Do").

As they have gotten older their voices have become more distinct. It's easier to tell them apart on Combinations and The Valley than on songs from earlier.

I think I will be redoing Strange Yellow Patterns lyrics page a little to include a key of who sings what again. Or maybe that can be it's own section.

I'm listening to that one live Memories video. That helps. Still, they sound quite similar to me.
You guys are awesome. I think I shall be enjoying this forum. And Eisley. Yup yup.

Here we go! This may take the whole night or a couple of days but it will be done!

www.strangeyellowpatterns.com/lyrics/who-sings-what

(I've never actually listened to 192 days so I'm assuming Sherri sings it all...)

I'll quote Sherri:

"I've got the nasal-y voice, Stacy has the sultry voice." Laughing

i think there should be a color code for when there's a harmonizing part for who's singing lead and who's harmonizing. such as let it be pink when it's stacy singing lead and sherri harmonizing and yellow when it's vice-versa

This.

Don't feel too bad, though; I couldn't tell any of them apart in the beginning, either.

Me neither. It's sort of hard on the first few EPs because they were young and their voices (or their vocal ticks and tendencies) hadn't fully developed.

Definitely by Combinations it became really obvious. I always expected it to be Stacy that sung the highest notes cause she was younger, but having the Marvelous Things video as guide, it was just the opposite. Sherri sings in her head and throat voice more, Stacy sings from her, dagnabit the technical terms just make me self-conscious but oh well... Chest or Diaphragm. They both sound great singing in either though.

I think Sherri fronting the band without Stacy at Brewtones is a great example of her using both ends of her range. And for Stacy, it doesn't get any better than Kind for her singing higher than what we may be used to, and 10 Cent Blues for lower.
