My sweet tooth the one area of indugence where i play fast & loose. I have things i won't touch, but so much i relish. It's best i just forgo it all rather than binge.

Man, those fruit flavored tootsie rolls used to speak to me...

I like sweets, but I can't eat a whole lot of them. Not that they make me sick or anything. I just can't stand eating too much sweet stuff. Then again, I drink a lot of Pepsi, so that might be why. Sugar overload.

I hate the word sweets when used in this context. I dunno why. I love me some good dark chocolate, maybe with a hint of sea salt or chili powder. And dessert is so much fun to make (and eat, but much more fun to make). I'm not much of one for "candy" though. I'd rather have cake. If I'm going to have something I don't want the cheap stuff, haha. Hershey bars are not worth my time.

I bake... NOTHING. BUT. SWEETS. I used to bake a lot, but I went on a diet last month, and have only baked cookies since. Most of which were eaten by my temporary roommate.

I think I'm in the same boat as cendrillon. I don't eat much candy, maybe a zero bar every few months, but I do love cake, pie and cookies! Very Happy I have trouble with sensitive teeth, so hard candies, really sugary stuff and sour things (think gummy worms) are out of the question. Icecream is good too. Wink

I wouldn't put fruit down as "sweets" BTW.

Did you try the ice-cream flavor ones they had a few years ago? There was chocolate, vanilla, orange, caramel and strawberry. The chocolate ones were nasty but the strawberries were delicious.

A recent find that I'm liking a lot is Creamy Caramel Filled Werther's Original. You bite into like a regular Worther's and basically a pat of butter comes oozing out.

It should come as no surprise, that I, Cynthia, love candy. Laughing

I don't like candy bars, or skittles, and things of that nature, but I love homemade candies: English toffee, peanut brittle, ...etc. I used to work at a candy shop, and I ate way too much taffy, caramel apples, fudge... Blegh!

I love pastries and cakes, but I don't eat too much of that anymore.
I feel like you have to limit your "sweets" intake to truly appreciate it. Otherwise, it starts to all taste the same, and you start eating it unconsciously.

My basic rule when it comes to eating sweets: if it doesn't feel like fireworks in my mouth, it's not worth the calories.

^ Love a good crisp Toffee bar... or turtle with firm chocolate & runny caramel... Love

I did because I really like frozen fruit bars, a good fruit cocktail, some good fruit as a desert or sweet treat as much as conventional candy or pastries, and I made the poll Laughing

I can't remember if it was Haagen Dazs or Dove or just Snickers or another, but some brand had an Ice Cream Candybar with chocolate shell, vanilla ice cream, with the most fluid, robust caramel, and peanuts... Shocked

it also had like 150% of your Daily Value of Fat, Saturated Fat & cholesterol. I think I ate another 2 or 3 that year and haven't touched them since. But for those few times I just didn't care about my cardiology, it was divine.

Twix are about the only candy bar I truly like anymore, maybe along with Take 5. But like Cynthia said, homemade stuff rules. The bad part about that is that I can pretty much make anything I want if I really want to. The good thing is that sometimes I'm really just too lazy to bake, so it actually works in my favor. Ha!

I made Banana-berry Yogurt Popsicles last night and had one this morning. Healthy and delicious? Okay, fine by me.

Frozen Yogurt is a St. Louis specialty, as well as custard. We have these low-fat concretes and one of my favorites to get was Vanilla with Strawberries and Oreos. Tart, Sweet, Creamy, Cocoa, Crunch, all in one.

And, Cheesecake with a crisp Graham cracker crust (tart cherries, strawberries, nuts, chocolate, whatever you want to top it with) is also goodness. As a kid I didn't get it Cheese-Cake Confused Sounded nasty, like Meat-Pie. So did Carrot Cake, which is also some good stuff (Coffee Cake ain't half bad either).

Heck, Zucchini Bread was something I hadn't had until a few years ago, and needless to say I was an instant convert.

Laughing

Too late, people have voted, so survey's set as-is according to the hard and fast laws of the way this boards survey forms are coded.. Consider it a write-in I guess?

Had Cinnamon Raisin Swirl bread toasted with Smart Balance melted on top for Breakfast, and gonna have a small bowl of the first and last of these:

plus a bowl of cocoa puff knock-offs from Sav-a-lot to get a 0% fat chocolate fix in between. Chocolate always makes me want a bowl of Granola with Almonds and Raisins. It was something I started years ago, and has persisted. It used to be Ice Cream then Granola though...
