we'll ever hear the songs the band tracked pre-room noises. i'm reading some of the trolley wood archives cause i'm bored and i'm coming across all these tracks and takes we've never heard. like another version of they all surrounded me.

just a thought.

i remember reading a while ago boyd said he had videos of all the songs and he'd post them someday.

it'd be cool to hear the symphony stuff too eventually, but i asked sherri on twitter and she said they never got the recordings. at least she doesn't think so.

you never know, perhaps LP3 is a gateway to blow up on LP4 and the big bunny will pull a radiohead and emi and release all that stuff.

I dream of the day when the studio version of Mr. Pine breaks out of that elusive vault.

I have a studio version of Mr. Pine. Is there a newer one from Room Noises recording?

Yup. Which is the one I meant, not the Moss Eisley EP one. Sorry for the confusion.

They've GOT to do something with silver bugs one of these days...

For some sick reason, I have always fantasized about Paul Weller covering that song.

Also would love to see cookie cutter mystery (and I can't remember the other name they had for a version of that song) dusted off again too.

ahhh i totally forgot about cobalt, but i doubt they ever recorded that one. i'd be interesting to hear the sessions that Becoming You came from. didn't they say they weren't happy with them? can't be too terrible if Becoming You's so brilliant.

I forgot what Silver Bugs sounded like, so I had to dig this up http://youtu.be/TbcEAVZVsow

Nothing sick about Weller doing this, it's got that psychedelic style, really Beatlesy, so why not Weller. I could see him doing it on 22 Dreams.

Colbalt & Become You are wicked, and both a little bit of a Trip Hop influenced Alternative Vibe, heavy on the backbeat, and bass driven. I love it, but you could argue that they sound dated. Just so happens that they date back to one of my favorite times in music. Cause they remind me of the mid to late 80s when the New Romantic stuff was bleeding into R & B and vice versa, before sampling took over.

They should just create a 2nd band for legal purposes, Parliament/ Funkadelic style, and put out web-only EPs of stuff like that via bandcamp, that they re-record. Doesn't have to be studio, just direct from the board with a proper mix will be excellent to have and distribute.

Did you you get Matt Holliday's autograph while hanging out in left field? Wink

I've never really thought about other bands covering Eisley songs. I know the Envy Corps did one + Max had his TE cover. Are there others? The longer I try and think of a good match, the more I realize how distinctive the girls' singing styles are, nobody else really does their kind of swooning melodies & harmonies.

Both of those covers are wretched, in my opinion. I've seen some good YouTube covers, but they have also all been girls singing them.

I came across Megan Joy's cover of combinations a few months ago. She was an American Idol finalist.
