Man, the performance is outstanding! The video is...rotten. Was it the camerman's first day on the job? Or first day using a camera at all? Shaky handheld, constantly going in & out of focus, everything in closeup so you can't really see the big picture. It's not arty, instead it just looks sloppy - most of the amateur concert vids I see these days are 10x better than this. But anyway, the song speaks for itself.

Looks like some guy who thinks he's the next Lars von Trier.
Probably an aspiring DP.

Did anyone else get pissed off that the entirety of that video, from the cinematography to the title screens, was a direct ripoff of La Blogotheque's Takeaway Shows? Leave it to MTV to take an original and distinct idea and disembowel it for their own gain.

And if you don't know what I'm talking about, Google the Takeaway Shows NOW, because your life is not complete until you see Michael Stipe elbowing the inside of a silo while R.E.M. performs "Sing for the Submarine" acoustic.

Heh. Like How punked was just candid camera? I can forgive em' for jackin' the style, if only they could do a better job of it. THe voyueristic aspect of it all (the über close-ups) just ain't my style.

I think pitchfork.tv jacked em' too, but better, with this version of Wide Eyes by Local Natives, that's amazing i might add http://pitchfork.com/tv/tunnelvision/1009-local-natives/1597-wide-eyes  /#player

Haha, that probably would’ve been similar to my reaction had I been near the internet the first time I heard them (which I believe was their performance of Njosnavalen on Kilborn), which at the time sounded like nothing I’d ever heard before. But I’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard Hoppipolla and just didn’t know it! Med(th) Sud(th)...has a few songs in a similar vein to the one I posted (it’s on that album after all), and a few depressing ones that are nevertheless beautiful; but Takk and ( ) are usually the ones that leave the biggest impressions on people.

Edit:
@Wil
So that's what they sound like! Thanks...

Re: the cover, I thought that picture was especially stunning (particularly love her hair). I like it, and I like the album name/Frostian reference. But I am a stan.
