The Amazon download version of 'Hiding Out' has a lower bit rate than the free download version.... I'm also certain some of the songs are lower quality than the iTunes download. _________________ "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" -Mahatma, Gandhi |

The others dabble a little too much with awkward beats and timing that's hard to follow and enjoy. I'm sure listening more will resolve a little of it. I think we have 100% opposite taste in music. "Chemical Reaction," "Stampede," and "Endless Sleep" are waaaaaaay my favorites. _________________ Taylor | @thbrogan http://inconnumag.com |

"Stampede" sticks out to me for now, along with "Hiding Out" of course, which already has like 10 plays. _________________ "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" -Mahatma, Gandhi |

"Say Something" stood out to me the most from the Amazon previews, but now that I've heard the whole song multiple times, I find it underwhelming. From the verses (which are great, btw), you think it's going to build up to something, but then... it doesn't? It's just the 'Oh Oh Oh Oh's", and they get kind of repetitive... Elsewhere, each song is becoming more distinct upon further listens. "Stampede" stands out to me at this point, as does "Troubled Waters" (looove the final section). And of course "Chemical Reaction." |

I hate it when songs implement impossible-to-follow timing for the sake of being different. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me! i'm gonna marry the mars volta. |

I hate it when songs implement impossible-to-follow timing for the sake of being different. I'm a sucker for weird compositions. They drive me good-crazy. As far as repetition/woah woes...we do all listen to Eisley. My play counts are all way higher than ten. It's becoming a problem. |

RE: VBR, using Winamp you can track the bitrate changes as the song plays, and it's pretty ingenious. Basically, the louder a part, the higher the bitrate aka data. Because of that I've grown to trust VBR more than I did in the past, as it's a good statistical representation of what's happening in the music. I would dig it if they had a higher threshold on the rate though. I think there is a lossless format that takes the same approach. Amazon needs to get on that ASAP. NOW THE BIG SCOOP: I emailed Topspinmedia about the lack of updating to the shipping status and here's what they said topspinmediacustomerserviceemailresponse wrote: US Fulfillment Support, Apr 11 10:08 (PDT):

I can just send you two the tracks if you want, I'd just need your e-mail. You already paid for it, so nobody is going to yell at me, right? _________________ "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" -Mahatma, Gandhi |
