Like I get what it is supposed to do. But I have journeyed there before and it made no sense to me. Then there are sub reddits and whatever. But my understand is that everything viral, both good and bad, starts on reddit. They are like the secret society (that isnt so secret) that controls the world. Or in this case, the internet. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... Always google first & maybe read a yahoo answers before following links to user generated content sites. And yeah, the bar has been raised/lowered. Thankfully no hotlink. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. LC > FB = personal fave = Eisley fans should dig it |

GOOD INSTINCTS! When in doubt google from your phone. Basically, and I'm giving Tahruh the benefit of the doubt and looking deep into the silver lining, is that reddit is the "community bathroom stall wall in a Frat Dorm" of the internet. You will find all manner of stuff to occupy your wayward mind, but at its worst it's the nastiest crudest foulest catchall of curiousities & obscenities to test the gumption of whatever inquisitive soul hits a link there. It's the wild wild west. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. LC > FB = personal fave = Eisley fans should dig it |

so wil it's basically the Mos Eisley (pun intended maybe?) of the internet? I have been to 4chan before and i can atleast move around there. I have clicked links to a few reddit things before, and I couldn't figure out where to start. inorbit, yes I still am. but I won't ask them. I have a good friend who would probably show me around if I asked. But I don't really want to use it. I just wondered if I was the only one who couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... Basically yup. I remember bouncing around there looking for Android rooting tips and some other techie crap & some long lost albums to no avail in the recent past. Basically it's a stream of consciousness free form flow chart where people can put stuff on whatever branch they see fit that others can then link to. You get to vote & what's hot gets top billing. It's like the record business nowadays. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. I just mentioned reddit.com/r/spacedicks because that's where the "reddit rules," so to speak, are located (look for the FAQ on the right side, on the panel). Like anywhere on the internet, some stuff is definitely not safe for work/children/lunch/life, etc., but it's not as bad as 4chan, imo, although some of the tamer stuff does find its way there (like the anon who pulled the pin on an old grenade and miraculously didn't get blown to bits (not a euphemism). _________________ Albert Camus wrote: Always go too far, because that's where you'll find the truth. |

I have no idea what's on there apart from the background (Carlton from the Fresh Prince, for the uninitiated). It's a Reddit tradition for newbs though, so no hard feelings? BTW, now that that's over, best reddits imo are r/wtf and r/imgoingtohellforthis. Pretty much the funniest stuff the internet has to offer (although r/imgoingtohellforthis is especially void of political correctness). r/askreddit usually has some good topics too. There's pretty much subs for everything though (including non-funny stuff). Eisley is no exception, although I think their reddit sucks. Might as well just hang here. _________________ Albert Camus wrote: Always go too far, because that's where you'll find the truth. |
