Everything viral starts on 4chan, and then Reddit takes credit for it. Reddit is mostly full of very young, socially awkward, liberal, super nerdy, atheist males lacking life experience. They usually function as white knights and circlejerk over the same crap over and over. There's certainly funny and entertaining stuff to be found though. _________________ EvilSpace |

When in doubt google from your phone. Basically, and I'm giving Tahruh the benefit of the doubt and looking deep into the silver lining, is that reddit is the "community bathroom stall wall in a Frat Dorm" of the internet. You will find all manner of stuff to occupy your wayward mind, but at its worst it's the nastiest crudest foulest catchall of curiousities & obscenities to test the gumption of whatever inquisitive soul hits a link there. It's the wild wild west. I take it you've never visited 4chan... _________________ Trying to find my way around a dark life, always breaking the important things... |

The front page is constantly full of posts from r/atheism (which has so many subscribers it is a default sub, tons of r/politics links from HuffPo, Daily Kos, etc., socially awkward people asking for advice about some socially awkward thing, rage comics (which have never once been funny), and people postin TILs on the most universal knowledge for anyone of legal voting age. I'm not saying Reddit is terrible, as I still visit it daily, just that the vast majority of its users are. _________________ EvilSpace |

I unsubscribed from Atheism, Advice Animals, and the like immediately, presuming the posts they'd churn out would annoy the $#@! out of me. Still trying to decide with r/Politics; thinking I might keep it around to get a feel for the center-left-practically-center-right-in-actuality pulse. _________________ Albert Camus wrote: Always go too far, because that's where you'll find the truth. |

Get any group of guys together (or like-minded or overly tolerant gals) in the name of fun & regardless of intellect or taste it devolves into a kind of fraternity like clannishness in behavior. So says me as a participant observer of jocks, geeks, nerds, stoners, burnouts, and anti-socials and hipsters as I came up and clung to my fringe. Also, sort of related, definitely broaching the same topical real estate http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/internet/2012/06/dear-internet-why-y ou-cant-have-anything-nice courtesy of a friend. _________________ yup, that's my name.
