I love the balance that Sherri's and Stacy's (and now Chauntelle's!!) songs bring to the table. Too far one way or another feels too one-dimensional (which is an issue I have with Sucre, as lovely as that music is ...). This album throws so many curves, and it kills me with awesomeness. THANK YOU...many in general make it seem like that's a bad thing, but many albums bore me with the sameness. This one does not. |

Fixed I was asked to write a review for Playbackstl.com since the Editor is not a fan of female vocalists. I'm sort of the "go to". I knocked it off in like 20 minutes. http://72.52.115.4/music-reviews/12499-eisley-currents-equal-vision _________________ yup, that's my name. Wil, what does Save Your Soul sound like that you said I like? Got CD in hand. For some reason I'm really liking the back photo/track listing, which I'm guessing is the same on the vinyl just bigger. _________________ I am Torgo. Also, Currents is #39 on Itunes top 100. Anyone remember how The Valley fared? Haha, I think that's mostly a Stacy thing. see: My Cup of Tea, Watch it Die. I wish Currents' liner notes specified song authors, because 99% of the time I can tell but Wicked Child has some Stacy phrasing. A co-write? It reached top 10 on the alternative charts this afternoon, so that's good. |

Well my cd/poster came today but unlike ups, the usps didn't just throw it on my porch so they are redelivering it in a couple of days. I guess that means the free poster isn't folded. I did get the mp3 download last night though. I like the whole album 2.5 listens in so far. My favorite is definitely Drink The Water. Favoring Wicked Child, Wonder English, Currents, Blue Fish and Millstone too. Lost Enemies doesn't disappoint but I still like the demo better heh. Save My Soul reminds me of the Go Go's or something, I like it though. Also really good recording, production value, whatever. Those preview clips had me worried about the drums sounding bad but everything sounds great. brandy alexander wrote: Anybody not receive their bundles yet? I'm in Los Angeles and haven't received mine. USPS said it would take 4-6 days but seeing pics of people on tumblr with their bundles is making me anxious. If you ordered from Merchnow you can check your order status here: http://eisley.merchnow.com/orders/lookup That will give you a tracking number you can enter on the usps site to see where it is. I forgot to do this myself until it was too late, I was just waiting for an email from them that never came. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

It's folded but packed in a large priority envelope, and the cd is wrapped in a manila padded mailer, and both are put in a large white mailer together. _________________ yup, that's my name. After about 10 or so listens, my official declaration is, in my opinion, that Currents is the best full length they've released yet. By miles and miles. Favorite: Shelter (Do you think Darren wept like a small child when he heard it for the first time? I know I did!) Other notable tracks: Real World (baffled by the complains about this one; second favorite (the background noise is reminiscent of a New Order song I can't currently place, though I assume that's accidental), Lost Enemies, Drink the Water (the best work they've done yet, I think, despite it not being my favorite. There's just so much to it; more than I ever expected from Eisley, to be honest. Painfully obvious single choice), The Night Comes Skip: Currents (usually), Save my Soul (always) More importantly though, I cannot wait to hear these puppies live. _________________ Albert Camus wrote: Always go too far, because that's where you'll find the truth. |
