Real trees, definitely.
I love the the smell lingering around the house. It creates much more excitement.
I don't like the pre-lit, ready-to-go, out-o-the-box whatever. Taking the time to decorate the tree each year just seems more in the whole Christmas spirit.

We've always had an artifical tree, but secretly when I would go down past the river that turns everything into gold to the underground cross bones caves in order to reach the north pole, I would always ask Mr. Claus for a real one.

I live in Oregon. You have to use a real tree. But I know too many people that don't. I mean, when you don't have to leave your yard to find a Christmas tree, why go and buy one?
