The thing is, that I can think of one animal that through the process of having a tail, we would be far too similar to for comfort: monkeys. "awwww", you say, "a monkey!" Not I. When they steal your sugar when you're having your afternoon tea, simply because other tourists have fed them, you can see why the Massai through rocks at them (it's ok: it's their job!). Granted, there are some daft critters who have wings. Ostriches, penguins, puffins. But two of those are cute (the other is just hilarious), and you do get amazing birds like eagles. In terms of looks, therefore, I would go for wings: they would make me look cool or cute, whereas a tail might make people throw stones at me, which is never a healthy way to live. In terms of utility.... hmmmm... that's a bit more tricky. Transport would be freeeee! I could see the world easier than i do now! A tail would also get in the way if I were on a bike, surely (although it would allow me to have a drink of water whilst keepig two hands on the bike - as the highway code says you should at all times). definitely wings! a tail, uh, i don't know… i just don't think it'd really suit me… wings seem like they'd be pretty cool to have, though! |
