I watched the video. The movie is anamorphic widescreen. The main character is on the far left of the screen, and the video is on the right side of the screen. It will most likely be cut out. It will probably be cropped down like this: Buy widescreen DVDs! Wow, I never realized so much gets chopped out for a full-screen version. Only that much gets cut off on movies shot in 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen. It's a little bit less on movies shot in 1.85:1, because the screen isn't as wide. Hardly any gets cut off on Super 35 2.40:1, because they're actually shooting a larger negative and cropping off the top and bottom to acheive the widescreen look. Some special effects-heavy Super 35 movies and movies timed with a Digital Intermediate are "panned and scanned" the traditional way, though; so it's safe to say that with full screen movies, unless they were composed for such, you're losing a great deal of picture. They say, on average, that it's 40% of the frame. _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

Please please please people do not rent this movie. It is honestly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It isn't funny, its not clever, its not entertaining, its not thrilling, its just boring. It's terrible. Stick with this guys clip... thats the best part of the movie. When I saw it I was going to shut it off, but I keep on... and I saw this scene and I was shocked... its pretty sweet. But this movie is absolutely terrible. I don't care if you are a fan of anyone in the film... do not rent it, buy it, or even look at. Please! |

Well, they made a few mistakes in the making of the movie that probably ruined it for them. First, Scott Frank didn't write it. Then, Barry Sonnenfeld didn't direct it. Boring old F. Gary Gray did. And, stupidly, they got Jeff Kimball to photograph it and it looks nothing like him. If it looked more like True Romance it'd at least have something interesting to look at. _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

my parents rented it yesterday, some good parts, but few and far between. really i only watched for the eisley clip. when i pointed it out my attention to detail fell on deaf ears, my family doesn't know who Eisley is, other than they're a band. and they probably think its an unhealthy obsession that i have... _________________ erinbeth84: forget pro-choice and pro-life. i'm going pro-duck. "Baylor's Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time. Reason: The Websense category "Sex" is filtered. " how lame is that? Haha what? That's bizarre... that's my own personal website/domain name. Maybe they take offense to the word "mucus"... it's a perfectly fine word! (And a short domain name, which is 95% of the reason I bought it) Stupid Baylor made me sad _________________ |
