Hey folks, just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Gavin and I'm from Tyler. I only recently discovered the band, believe it or not. Honestly, the main reason I'd never heard of them is because I mostly listen to dance music (progressive house, breaks, drum n' bass). I didn't really follow the local music scene here because there seemed to be nothing but punk bands in town. For me, that phase ended about 7th grade Being bored at work, I was googling Tyler, TX references and stumbled on to Eisley. What really piqued my curiosity was the band's influences. I'm a big Radiohead fan. Eisley didn't sound like they were going to be a punk band. I'm an old shoegazer, see. Lush, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, etc. so this seemed like it would be right up my alley. Anyway, I downloaded some songs then promptly went out and bought the EPs. Needless to say, I'm hooked. I'm ashamed that I didn't know this was going on right in my own backyard. Well, greetings to Boyd, Kim, the band, and all the forum members and fans. Thanks for having me. Best of luck to everyone in the coming new year.... mgm |

Howdy. Don't worry, Eisley was all in my back yard and I missed quite a bit, too. All that matters is you like them now. Welcome. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Well, believe it or not, I live about 50 yards from you. I'm on Rowland. My only excuse for never having heard of the band is that I've been in the dance music scene for about 11 years. I had pretty much given up on guitars. I would occassionally bust out my old records (I loved just about anything that came out on the 4AD Records label) but it has been mainly EDM for a long time. Hearing Eisley really brought me back to those days but still sounds so fresh.... mgm |
