OK before you start calling the lawyers to track me down, I work for a division of Warner Music. Last week I was sent a copy the new CD to preview. Last night as I was driving in Boston I popped the new Room Noises CD into my car CD player and it's been there ever since. I've listened to the previous 2 EP's from Elektra and liked them, but this disc is a whole new level of musicianship and songwriting. The first track titled "Memories" is the sort of song that gives you chills.. It's the sort of song that makes you want to weep for joy at being alive, when the girls kick into the first harmony it makes you realize that music like this has rings of another world that calls you when you wake or the feeling of security you get when you nap under the warm autumn sun... sorry if this is sounding too gushy, but I honestly have had so many of these emotions as I've listened to this new CD. track 11 "One Day I Slowly Floated Away" is another that I must have listened to five or six times in a row "Golly Sandra" is quirky and fun though I'm not sure what the song is all about, it seems to be about realizing something about someone and seeing that maybe you've misjudged them...anyway I like it's rockabilly feel. "My Lovely" is another haunting love song... I could go on , but I'll just stop to say congratulations to the band on this new CD! _________________ ... the greatest of these is love. |

Hope that helps clear it up! I thought that Laughing City was released on WB's Record Collection and Marvelous Things was their first Reprise release... hmm. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed them! _________________ Blaahg Mahspace Audioscrobbler

Gah I have the conflicting interests of wanting my last semester at college to go by as slowly as possible and wanting to own Room Noises. Ah well it will just be a delayed pleasure... _________________ "You're my favorite person." - David Carradine, Kill Bill vol. 2 |
