So much fuss over the review on rollingstones.com We know that's the opinion of only one person and shouldnt make too much of a fuss about it ( even though the label is pretty big ) Here are some GOOD reviews Eisley has received.... Since they are a superb band.. ***PasteMagazine.com*** 3.5/4 stars "In this era of bling-bling hip-hop and ultra-calculated teen pop, sometimes it’s just great to hear—and kick back to—an album that doesn’t have any pre-fab designs on your pocketbook. A record that appears to exist simply as well-conceived catharsis for its creators. Looking to be this decidedly disarmed? Look no further than Room Noises, the almost ABBA-lovable debut from home-schooled Texas family band Eisley. One listen and you can’t keep yourself from surrendering—the disc sounds so serenely beautiful, so unusually assured that it’s difficult to believe the group’s oldest member, guitarist Chauntelle DuPree, is only 22." "Good thing, too: the tug-of-war between fairy tales and real life is what makes Eisley, and Room Noises, so enjoyable." Eonline.com grade : B Two years ago, Eisley's five-song debut, the cute Laughing City EP, gained the family act an opening spot on Coldplay's massive North American tour. Now the modern-day Partridge Family finally gets around to issuing its first full-length disc. Okay, so they're not the fastest musicians in the studio. But they can rest assured that the songs on Room Noises--a combination of old and new material--will find them an audience of their own. It's beautifully haunting stuff, even if the fluttery harmonies and wholesome titles like "Golly Sandra" and "Marvelous Things" might be too twee for some. The compelling dark undercurrent that runs through it all just might attract those tired of jonesing for their next Chris Martin fix. _________________ http://www.nicholasvenaglia.com |

You guys should be posting reviews in the sticky thread I made in this forum: http://www.eisley.org/viewtopic.php?t=12420 I don't see sticky threads all the time either, I just sort of gloss over them to get to the REAL posts I'll lock this thread and if you come across any reviews that I don't have up in that thread, please reply with them. _________________ |
