So i was wearing my eisley hoodie at my sat prep academy class, ( yes, im an 11th grder, mind you ) and there was this lady teacher ( about 20-25ish ) and she was new, she was there to watch a few classes done by other teachers to get a better idea of what its like.... and i came out of my first class, and she stopped me and asked, " You're an Eisley fan?" and i replied," Yes! I love them to death" And she pulled from her inconspicuous black messenger bag, our very own Room Noises album! And she said " I just got this the other day, I really like them. My friend works at WB so I got it.... " And i stood there sharing a few good words about Eisley.... then she goes ( it starts to deviate from eisley-ness starting here ) "Are you a music-person?" And i looked at her a bit coyly. "Er, you can say that " "Do you know the arcade fire?" "Yeah, i love them!" "Yeah, i just saw them" anyway yeah..... this was quite exciting. unusual huh? At SAT prep academy..... funksta. _________________ "I don't believe in you."

That's so awesome! What a cool lady. I love meeting people like that in unexpected places. I have a Radiohead shirt I wear sometimes. Most comments I get are "that's weird" or something along those lines. But my Englsih teacher last year was like "Wow, I love Radiohead". And I thought that was cool considering she's a 30-something year old mom that I had never heard talk about music before that. But really...it shouldn't surprise me too much, I know all kinds of people are music-fanish. |

Ya never know who likes what kind of music until you either ask or over hear them talking about it. I think it's cool to talk to older people and find out what kind of musical experiences they've had. I talked to a guy that recorded Hendrix here in Seattle. I used to work for a radio station and met several bands. There's so many little experiences that are fun to share especially with younger people. So don't be afraid to ask! It may even help ya get better grades! Hahaha |
