Yeah, all these firetrucks came and made everyone go down the block and on our way home one of our moms called us and was freaking out thinking we were hurt because on the news she heard the floor was collapsing. Word was that they oversold the show and everyone jumping for NFG's set was causing a hazard. It was crazy because we were at the merch table and the doors behind the table were literally shaking and like flying open and knocking things down and we just thought it was the party next door but it turned out to be the floor above us shaking everything. Glad everyone was evacuated, or I'd be dead. _________________ Please take me out of my body up through the palm trees, to smell California in sweet hypocrisy. Floating, my senses surround my body. cause i left a bunch of people in there and no one is answering their cell phones. Well they pretty much forced everyone to exit so I'm sure that your friends are fine. There was just a lot of commotion and excitement so that's probably why no one's answering. Eisley was packing up by the time we left and we talked to Boyd and caught glimpse of Jon, Stacy, Weston and Chauntelle, so they're all okay. I'm almost positive none of the people there got hurt. _________________ Please take me out of my body up through the palm trees, to smell California in sweet hypocrisy. rockettocome wrote: how lame. the news said it collapsed and the people inside (you guys and my friends) said it didnt lol. stupid news getting me scared. Well, I'm not sure if it did later, but by the time everyone was out and on the street and till much after that the floor was still intact. I can't say if it has collapsed by now, though, I really wouldn't be surprised considering the way we felt that floor shaking and seeing all the doors rocking. Stupid unsafe Webster Hall. _________________ Please take me out of my body up through the palm trees, to smell California in sweet hypocrisy. Floating, my senses surround my body. I was talking to Steve from NFG and he was asking if we had felt safe and we were all too caught up in the moment to realize how dangerous it was. It was crazy. I had talked to Sherri afterwards, when everyone was evacuating and she didn't know anything about it but I can confirm that I was the last person out of the building when they had the mad rush, and the floor did NOT collapse. Although it was giving way pretty badly. |

glad no one was hurt. No they didn't, and their fans were really pissed. I'm not sure how many songs they got to play, but I do know that they were stopped in the middle of the song after the one that Sherri sang in. (p.s.- I think I saw you waiting on line but I wasn't quite sure so I didn't say anything.) _________________ Please take me out of my body up through the palm trees, to smell California in sweet hypocrisy. ok here's the full story: there were sharks next door at a seafood place and somehow they got in. see, boyd fell through the floor earlier and thought "wow this isnt safe" but was like "whatever". so anyway, the sharks came in the venue because they drilled through the wall. started eataing people left and right. pandemonium. then there were the "bondage teens" ((c) stacy 2005) and they were trying to fight the sharks, but failed. then Chad strapped spikes on his shoes and was stepping on people. then the hindenberg exploded. twice. (edit: that story was a lot funnier at starbucks with duprees and beardo making it up) (ok here's the REAL story) so, apparantly newfound glory's fans have some weight to them...or at least know how to cause a ruckus. during nfg's set, the floor of the main room floor was buckling about a foot. we (people hanging out near the merch booths and stuff) below were treated to windows (that show between the rooms downstairs) flapping open and shut due to the cieling's contractions. after about 20 mins of it, fdny shows up. some people in another room of webster at an 80s prom thing were freaking out, so they were called. half way into nfg's set, everybody out. cleared the venue, merch, money, gear all of it stayed. it was eventful. and fun. and kinda cold. NO ONE was hurt to my knowledge. The cieling didnt collapse, though the guy from the new york times interviewing jon (no joke) after the events seemed to think bad voodo went down. i'd like to extend my thanks to the whole eisley and crew and gang for being awesome as usual and letting me chill in the van and chat it up. and to beardo for being kick-butt and recommending the breve-latte, and boyd for beign the man, and chauntelle and stacy for being ever so excellently awesome, and sherri for being cool even though i didnt get to say hi. and to jon for being 'clucked' by me. you guys are a testament to amazing people, all of you. God bless, happy easter. see you in a few months. "floor collapsing, bouncin' back and one day, i am gonna grow wings..." couldnt not think of that when there were all these sirens and insanity outside. chauntelle was like "i do not like this!" good times. great times. thanks again y'alls. _________________ knives don't have your back. |
