I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a similarity between early Eisley recordings and early Veruca Salt recordings?

I was listening to Pretender last night and it struck me that the harmonies in the song remind me of the type of sound you could hear on American Thighs, the first Veruca Salt record. The production of the guitar sound is also quite similar. Dream For Me and Blackened Crown also remind me very much of that early Veruca Salt vibe.

So I'm curious if anyone knows whether or not the girls were influenced at all by that record when they were writing those early songs.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it sounds like they copied the sound or anything negative like that. I just think that there are similarities, and am interested to know if what I am hearing is an actual influence or just a coincidence.
