While walking down Delmar Boulevard in St. Louis yesterday afternoon before the show, I spotted a skinny guy wearing a Midlake shirt and an NFG all-access pass. Even without the facial hair (holy crap!) I recognized Boyd. I called out a greeting and he stopped and chatted. My friends were embarrassed by my ability to recognize Eisley-related people by sight. I recommended he try some of the free organic coffee samples in a little shop up the street, but he said he'd be getting a nice veinte instead.

There you have it. I am the queen of the nerds.

Hannah, do you actually live in St. Louis? Just wondering, since you've been talking like you are there often. It perplexes me somewhat since you seem pretty nice, but I have been to St. louis and I can safely say that by a wide margin it seemed to me, out of all the places I've ever been, to be the most miserable place in the world. That is my experience speaking and I've been to quite a few places around the globe for someone my age. I didn't think anyone nice lived there.

St. Louis is a great city! I've met a lot of nice people there. Besides they have the greatest baseball team ever. And I'm not biased one bit. Razz

I did the same thing. I was standing 4th in line, and I saw this guy come out of the House of Blues Cleveland talking to these people and pointing across the street. Then he went back inside. Then I turn to the three people who were ahead of me in line and say "Oh my God! That was Boyd!" They said "Who?" I said "That's Eisley's tour manager and 4/5 of Eisley's dad!" The one guy said "Hey that's cool. I want to have kids and make them into a band too." About 2- 5 minutes later Boyd comes out again, But this time EISLEY came out with Jordan and Chad. It was the first time I'd seen them outside of a tv or computer screen. I remember thinking this is like a cartoon.

i have a similar boyd experience. at the toronto show, i was 2nd in line with my friend, and the band pulled up and boyd hopped out and i started going OMG THAT'S BOYD and my friend didn't know about eisley, so she's like WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, WHAT IS A BOYD. by the end of eisley's set, my friend was just as into boyd as i was/am. then i got his autograph after the show, much to boyd's dismay. he's my hero. oh, and i like eisley too Razz

I'm in Springfield, so it's about four hours away. I agree that it's not that pleasant of a city. The Pageant, however, is in a lovely little university section of town, with lots of amazing shops and used vinyl stores and wow, it was cool. So I wouldn't mind living in that particular area. I'm not too fond of the rest of St. Louis, though.

haha, Don't feel too bad. I recognized Boyd right away inside the Pageant. But I had to ask a few people just incase. I didn't want to just randomly go up to someone and ask "Are you Boyd Dupree?" and have it not be him, haha.
