Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot...

but according to the "bio's" and stuff, Eisley's singers are Sherri amd Stacy...

umm, does this mean they both sing lead on different songs? or is one of them just do backing vocals? and if they both sing lead, who sings what songs??

heh, go ahead, jump all over me, but remember, im new...

Now I'm by no means an expert or anything, but from what I could tell at the show Saturday night, it seemed that Sherri (the eldest of the two vocalists) did the majority of the lead vocals, and Stacy did some very heavenly backup (see Treetops). Whether or not the same goes for when they record is beyond me, but I'm making an educated guess and saying the Sherri does more lead work and Stacy backup, to which someone will probably correct me though.

There was a good thread on this a while back...

Boyd provides a great explanation in his post.

It's great when sisters can sing together because they usually sound a lot alike. Sometimes, to me at least, y'all sound like the same person. It's cool. woo.

haha yeah it's hard to tell when they switch off... I didn't even know that they did until I saw them open for coldplay at mountianview..

anyway, it makes it more fun to listen to Eisley in the car with friends... a usual conversation when i've got someone in my truck and eisley is blasting would go something like this :

Friend: "so, which one's singing the lead now? the older or younger sister?

me: "erm, i'm not sure, it's hard to tell unless you watch them preform. I think maybe it's, uhh... no, I can't tell.."

at which point I just start singing along, causing anyone who's inthe car with me to jump out in approximately 5 seconds flat heh.. Wink

In general, Sherri has a thinner, "tenor/soprano" vocal tamber and sings hi stuff...Stacy (lil' sis') has a fatter, "alto" tambor - you can pic up on this easily.

Good example - on Marvelous Things - Stacy lead on verses, Sherri grabs the top (melody) on chorus, but Stacy sings very dominant harmony on that chorus to give it that sister strobe thing. Same on the new song - Musical Things; Same on "They All Surrounded Me". On Laughing City ep, Sherri happened to sing much lead....next record will be equal....as Sherri said. Sometimes they trade off in weird places and create trouble for soundmen that don't know their music...which is all of them right now except for Coldplay's sound guy who knows their music backward and forward but has a better job opportunity than to go on indie tours with Eisley. oh well...

being new, I also had the same question, never having seen them perform. I sorta of guessed they switched around. Soundman hell??
