Good morning everybody (in america that is, evening or afternoon for the rest). So I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should go ahead with this "deal".

Here's the story: I'm selling a ton of my musical equipment to try to get myself out of debt (a few things are on ebay already). I don't feel so bad about doing so, because at the moment I'm not in a band and I'm going to keep enough to be able to record my solo thing (equipment can be bought back, the stress from being in debt can do some damage though).

Anyway, my main amp for seven years was an Ampeg Reverberocket half-stack (r-50h 50watt head). I took this to my local music store yesterday hoping to get around $400 for it or at least something reasonable...

Well this brings us to the issue. They only offered me $250 cash for the whole thing and that seems weak to me. Well as a side offer they said they could do an even trade for something of slightly more value (trades are always worth more). So I found a Takamine gs330s acoustic guitar that isn't too bad (but not my first choice). It's better than what I have now anyway. The thing I keep telling myself is that I have no use for a half-stack anymore, but I could use a new acoustic... I just wish that it were a better deal. I'd like to get more out of the amp, but I just don't want to keep it anymore. So, what do you all recommend?

Dang, i'm so indecisive this morning. I'm going to leave in 20 minutes to make "the" deal... whichever one I pick. I'm bad at making choices today.

polls close in 5 minutes... because I'm about to leave. It's a tie between get the new acoustic or take the money. Any late voters wanna chime in?

I just went up there. The guy that I made a deal with was out at lunch, so I have to wait. It's such a hard thing to do. The amp is worth way more than that guitar, but I'd have to go through the hassle of selling it myself and shipping it. It just doesn't seem fair, but I guess when dealing with used equipment nothing is ever fair.

Actually, now I'm trying to just sell it myself. I am trying to get $400 for it (for a head and cabinet, that's super cheap). I have one guy looking at it tonight, but I'm not sure if that'll work out. I also live in an economic system where acoustic guitars can be traded as a currency, so maybe somebody will pay with one.
