Thoughts about why Eisley is such a unique band...

The vocal harmonizing is amazing. Maybe it's just the sound when you get two sisters to sing together, but there's some quality about it that you don't hear in other bands. Secondly, Weston is an amazing drummer. Today's standards allow only fast drummers to be considered "good." Weston's got this creative drumming thing going on that makes him so much better than everyone you hear on the radio. Also, look at the time signatures eisley composes in. The world thinks in 4/4. I rarely ever hear bands playing in 3/4, much less 6/8! True sign of creativity. And the songwriter, (Did I see the credits go to Sherri?) I love how the long vocal notes compliment the driving rhythms underneath! I love the radiohead influence as well. Every time I hear "Over the Mountains" it makes me think of "no surprises" Very Happy

Good show at Trees. I talked with the Old 97's afterwards and they were in awe of your talent. Philip (drummer) said It's not every day you come across a band that is as talented as eisley, but even more rare are the ones that make REALLY GOOD songs like eisley does.

Well, thank you very much, very encouraging.
We try our best you know.
And as far as the songwriting goes, Sherri
and I are the main songwriters, Like...She or i will
come up with basic chords and melody, although i'm not as good at lyrics as Sherri is....So i'll record a song without lyrics just melody and chords and She somehow amazingly places lyrics over the melody.
We both help eachother out. Sometimes she'll have a song and i'll just add a bridge to it.
and then we take it to practice and the rest of
the band writes their own parts. And we decide who sings what, depending on how good it sounds with each voice. So it all works out nicely.
Every band member is extremely important. and i'm thankful for them.
So maybe this answers a few questions that have been popping up
about song writing and such. It's all balanced.
Thanks again for the kind words. Have a nice day.
