Hey Boyd - Gus here (Elsa's Dad) - thanks so much for including us in your journal! That was a real special night for Elsa (my daughter), Elissa (best friend from Sault St Marie who sat in the van) and myself (even though I am 2 months late in posting this). It was great to have coffee with you and visit at Tim Horton's. And chatting with Kim (I could never find the spoof video that we tried to find on the computer - and now I forget the name of it - LoveBeat - or something like that). Knowing that you are an artist as well, I thought you would appreciate this tidbit (if you want to see some terrific illustrations by a gifted Canadian) do a search for Aimee Mann's (of Till Tuesday fame) cd Lost In Space. A local cartoonist named Seth did the artwork for this cd and discovering his work has "wrecked" me - he's truly amazing. His stuff can be purchased from drawnandquarterly.com - a really cool quarterly, out of Montreal. His book - It's A Good Life, If You Don't Weaken - is brilliant. Anyway, apologies for promoting this infatuation. If you come back to Ontario in the future I will gladly buy you another coffee. It turns out that the dedication was truly appropriate as Elissa's favourite song is Treetops. What a coincident! Sherri would have no way of knowing that was her fav song! Elsa and Elissa send their sympathies at losing Jon, and we wish the band all the best. Please forgive me if this was not the appropriate place to send this greeting to you (I don't normally use Forums, but I hope this reaches you).
