I have to start this post by just saying...."my own kids blow me away".
I hope that's ok with those of you who read these lyrics. I'm not just their mom...I'm also a huge fan, so I took the time tonight to listen with headphones to the songs recorded in LA that I can't wait for them to be finally available to the public, because they are absolutely beautiful. I don't know who wrote how much of each song, or if Sherri did most of the lyrics, but it is definitely some sort of collaboration.
So, here you go:

MEMORIES
He was throwing grain into the ground below, ground below
With dreary circles of his arm, going slow, very slow
His cap pulled down roun' his ears to
hide the smile and watery tears

My loving wife is so wonderful
how small seeds gracefully to grow
into musical things that spring from these rows
With their musical names and musical sound

Dreary birds parade across the dreary sky, but down below
the woman absent mindedly begins to sow, how she sows the
seeds her husband loved so much, but he's no longer
here with us

But her life is so beautiful
as memories continue to grow
into musical things that spring from these rows
With their musical names and musical sound
Beautiful things that spring from these rows
with their musical names and musical sounds, and musical sounds

(Husband speaking)
Distant tho I am
orange, gold, and green
firing, flaming, colors surround me
(Wife)
I'm always wondering where you are?
I'm always wondering where you are?
(Husband)
Darling shouldn't I be the one
wondering after all I am the one who is gone
(wife)
I was just wondering
(husband)
I was just wondering
(wife)
I was just wondering
(husband)
I'm the one...who is gone
I'm the one...who is gone
who is gone

But, there's beautiful things that spring from these rows
With their musical names, and musical sounds
there's beautiful things that spring from these rows
With their musical names, and musical sounds
and musical sounds.

It's a sure sign of a great deal of talent when the lyrics to your songs sound beautiful in their written form.. to think they'll sound even better when we get to hear them is something.

Thanks for posting them! Wink

MARVELOUS THINGS

I awoke the dawn
saw horses growing out the lawn
ah ah .....

I glimpsed a bat with butterfly wings
oh what marvelous things
ah ah....

Chorus:
Dark night...hold tight, and sleep tight
my baby
Morning light...shall burst bright
and keep us here safely

I followed a rabbit
through rows that were made of twine shrubbery
Ah ah....
Oh what marvelous things but, they are, they are, they are
giving me the creeps

Dark night...hold tight, and sleep tight
my baby
Morning light...shall burst bright
and keep us here safely

Bridge
Oh...lying in the sun
everday feeling all of the magic in life
and the wonder.....

Dark night...hold tight, and sleep tight
my baby
Morning light...shall burst bright
and keep us here safely
morning light...shall burst bright
and keep us here safely
Ah ah.....

THEY ALL SURROUNDED ME

I gathered my thoughts and sat out on a trail
into the woods, wearing sword and chainmale(sp?)
I started to whistle and walk to the beat
that my heart played constantly on repeat

The nightfall was chilly, I slumbered right where I fell
dreaming up adventures cause' I had none to tell
Upon the morning, I woke with a start
for the beasts had blackened the horizon

They all surrounded me, they all surrounded me,
that's when the giant dragon jumped over the hill
and he said
He said, "no, no, no, no, no, no way sir,
no, no, no, no, no, not today sir,
you won't surround me, you can't surround us."

(repeats whole song then)
Oh.....

They all surrounded me...
They all surrounded me...
They all surrounded me...
They all surrounded us...
That's when the giant dragon jumped over the hill
and he said
He said, "no, no, no, no, no, no way sir,
no, no, no, no, no, not today sir,
you won't surround me, you can't surround us."

WINGS AND WINDOWS

Call me addlebrain
but, that's not really bad enough
Call me lots of things but their not really bad enough for me

Because you know that
I left the window up
I let your bird go
I was the one who helped him escape
I left the window up
I let your friend go
You won't believe that I am sorry

Right before he left, he said he wanted happiness
I said, "don't look too far"
but that's not really good enough for you

Because you know that
I left the window up
I let your friend go
I was the one who helped him escape
I left the window up
I let your bird go
and you won't believe that I am sorry,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry

(bird)
Oh, he won't,...he won't...own me
Oh, he won't,...he won't...own me

I left the window up
I let your bird go
I was the one I helped him escape
I left the window up
I let you friend go
and you won't believe that I am sorry,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry

TROLLY WOOD

Out one day
walking one day
out one day, with you hallelujah
We found a wood with Trolly's on wheels
rolling all around the hills
Hallelujah

and just as soon it had slipped into
the sleepy dusk and it's not very likely
that we'll see it a... we'll see it again

Out one day
walking one day
out one day, with you hallelujah
We found a wood and then we unfound a wood
and then we cried, "Oh No"
and, please tell me will we ever find again?
In the depths of Trolly Wood
Do trollies still drive?

Gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
I'm gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
The Trolly Wood is taken me away

Out one day
walking one day
out one day, with you hallelujah
We found a wood and then we unfound a wood
and then we cried, "Oh No"
and, please tell me will we ever find again?
In the depths of Trolly Wood
Do trollies still drive?

Gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
I'm gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
The Trolly Wood is taken me away

(repeat verse again)

Gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
I've gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
I've gone for the day to the Trolly Wood
The Trolly Wood is taken me away

So, out one day
walking one day
out one day with you hallelujah.

Shocked

Kim. Thank you so much for posting those! I can't even begin to explain how happy I was to see lyrics to Trollywood.

Squee! I can't wait to hear those songs again... or in some cases for the first time.

Very Happy

Those are incredible. I feel so lucky reading these! Sherri is a wonderful Poetess...and the rest of the band!

I can't wait until these come out. I'm so curious and at the edge of my seat.

ive been wanting to know these songs for three weeks! i kept trying to sing Trollywood (because i really was out one day walking, for a few weeks) and it would have been the perfect hiking through the wisconsin woods backpacking tune... luckily though i could sing They All Surrounded Me... which also makes a good walking tune.

yay for lyrics. especially eisley ones.
