So I called my friend Lea tonight. (We both have Verizon Wireless.) It rang once, then a lady's voice said, "Please enjoy this music while we connect your call" or something like that and all of a sudden I hear "and sleep tight my baaaaaaa-byyyyyy, morning light..." and then her voicemail. Weird. And cool. But weird. Allie _________________ You see how I go to pieces, that I'm laying on the ground like the sky is so heavy when I could be brave. - The Innocence Mission Myspace |

verizon wireless offers a service now called "ringback tones" where you can purchase tones for a fee and have them play when someone calls instead of the standard ringing noise... i believe you can check it out at... www.verizonwireless.com/ringback _________________ THE AUDIOSCROBBLER! But it was the real song, not a ringtone. I have yet to get in touch with her to ask her if she requested this feature on her phone. _________________ You see how I go to pieces, that I'm laying on the ground like the sky is so heavy when I could be brave. - The Innocence Mission Myspace |

They're the actual songs played to the people who are calling instead of the generic "this person's phone is ringing" sound. It's a nice surprise sometimes. I don't have Verizon, so I can't use it yet, but I'm looking forward to when it's more common. And when it comes to ringtones, I have a real music ringtone (click "ringtones" above to find 'em) of "I Wasn't Prepared," and it's lovely. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |
