i got my tonsils removed last year. i kept getting white rice-like textured things stuck on my tonsils. i went to my doctor and he said it's rotten food. it got worse and puss started forming. so, i had to get them removed. those white things also smelled nasty which also made my breath smell nasty. the tonsils prevent infections and acts as a filter to prevent invasion of bacteria. so, without them you're more prone to getting sick... right now i have the sniffles. do you still have tonsils? |

I have them, and I get a sickness about once a year because they get infected kinda. They get inflammed and stuff, and get weird stuff on them. Then my fever goes to 104, and I can't really stay awake, and I have a terrible one week headache. I do and they make strep throat worse when I get it. my brother and I have both have huge tonsils, but his are bigger. someday I bet we'll get them out and it will be quite an event. _________________

mine are in. my cousnins are out. he snored alot and now he doesnt. and was only 5 when he snored. |

I had mine out when I was like 5 or 6. I was sick alot when I was younger and had mono in kindergarten, and my throat would practically swell shut, the doctors even threatened to put in a trach tube so I could breathe, so having them out was pretty much my only option. |
