 Post subject: A question for Sherri or anyone who knowsPosted: Sat Aug 30, 2003 2:54 pm 
I really like the drawings posted on the website, especially some of sherri's. I was wondering what she used to draw ones like the "tree tops", "mr. pine", and "congratulations". I'm not sure whether it's just pen and paper or some other medium, cause it looks too dark to be just pen and paper. _________________ I think that it's brainless to assume that making changes to your window's view will give a new perspective.

she used the semi-fibrous sap of the tsu-tsu tree for treetops. she said in a recent interview, "i thought tsu-tsu sap fitting for a piece involving trees. it seems to capture the soul of the painting more and convey my druidic tendencies more clearly." the others she used east asian virulence ink applied with a .089 gilmesh brush on 100% recylced not-from-concentrate environmentally friendly satin. i made that up... i have no idea what she used.... but i think everyone knew that... |

I've seen some great stuff with just a pen. Of course, I have no idea about Sherri's stuff. But, to me, it looks like pen. The matter is what kind, and if some of it was actually a brush. Sherri's drawing style is somewhat similar to mine (hers, however, is much better), and I use Micron pigma inking pens. The size I use varies depending on how detailed I am making things. I usually use somewhere between a .30 mm or .45 mm line width. You can buy these pens at any art/craft store for a dollar and some change. Sherri; You should try some of the pens that I mentioned above. I used to use bics, then I tried these, and they are amazing. They draw very easily and they are very full, hand strokes go incredibly smoothly. It's like drawing with butter, but instead of getting your paper all oily and messy, you just have nice drawings on it. _________________

I'd like to see the dragon, too, but for some reason my computer is saying, "NO." Sorry, helloresolven. And as for the bics, I'm right there with ya. The clicky kind that only comes by the dozen happens to be a long-time favorite of mine. woot. _________________ I highly recommend it. |
