I'm a pretty new Eisley fan. I was introduced to their music at the Coldplay show in Cleveland on June 10, and now I learned that they are playing Bogarts in Cincinnati about 20-30 minutes from where I live. I'm pretty excited, hence me starting a whole new topic on such a worthless piece of information to the rest of you. Maybe I'll get to meet them (fingers crossed). But if they are playing anywhere near you, feel free to share your joy with the rest of the forum by posting on this thread. _________________ I think that it's brainless to assume that making changes to your window's view will give a new perspective.

yeah I plan to be at the October 2 show and any other time they play Dallas/Fort Worth or Austin. btw, the band is very approachable. I'm pretty shy but managed to ask Chauntelle to sign my cd and she did. Just hang around after/before the show and keep an eye out. _________________ "Religions have started on lesser revelations" - investor on MarketWatch.com |

I'll keep that in mind luke, I'll constantly be looking for heavy objects hovering over my head. Yeah I plan to go early and scope things out, the problem is the venue is on a very shady shady street. Let the band be forewarned. I saw Megadeth a couple years ago at the same place and there were shadowy figures all over the streets. _________________ I think that it's brainless to assume that making changes to your window's view will give a new perspective.

Hmmn...interesting comments about the "approachability" of the band. I always find this interesting. Many things keep us humans from approaching stage people. 1. our own insecurities 2. feeling like we will be rejected 3. feeling like we would just be bothering people that get bothered all the time by people 4. being shy 5. not realizing that a stage person may be the same as you....just shy. Tis true that Boyd and Chauntelle are probably the most approachable, but, if you push past whatever is stopping you, the rest of the band is quite willing to talk to new people. They're all just people too |

yeah, when I gotta finally meet 'em at the shoreline everyone was just kinda hanging out... it's not like they're rockstars (in the sense that they are pounding 40's backstage, and breaking things anyway, indeed, Eisley are definately not your typical band, so just go up and say hi... maybe crack a few jokes [if you can muster any] to break the ice.. that always seems to help when i'm around new people... _________________ "strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others." ~Joseph Conrad ---------------

yeah, when we were in Cali....and met abductee, the girls were sorta shy...it causes them seem a bit distant. But they're really not. When everyone is shy, it makes for an awkward moment. Honestly, though...eisley hasn't cornered the market on shy. I found the Coldplay guys to be super shy. Especially Johnny... and Guy - unless you're talking gear, music, eisley, recording, etc....then he'll talk your head off. Will is more a people person, but also softspoken. Polite and cool; He's so nice, it's amazing. Chris is...hmm, can't describe him. He's like nobody on the planet. Also very, very encouraging and nice. Dan is shy also...but you have to press through. They enjoy it. Eisley is sorta the same way, except for Chauntelle - who is a big, friendly open book; Weston and Jon also are very laughy and happy to meet people, though a little shy...hope you guys know that when we come to your town, you should introduce yourselves...and say, "hey, I'm so-in-so from the forum". That puts you in a special category as far as just...you know -who really is a part of this tiny, expanding culture. I won't know you by any other name...and the band will know less; but I'm happy to introduce you guys... Anyway, hanging out and meeting people and talking is a pretty big value of the band...so, you know, there'll be that standard signing cd thing happening...I don't know how fast we'll have to jet after each show. It depends on how far the drive is to the next venue. So, don't not introduce yourselves. NO. bad. Say something...tell them you love their music...you'll get these big teethy, cute smiles and handshakes... make up something to say...."hi, I first heard your music at the Coldplay show...and, at first, I thought you were going to be this sucky, horrible, chick band - like all the other horrible chick bands, so I went to order a beer....or popcorn and when I came back in, you guys were gone...so, I came tonight to see if you sucked much...." OR, you could say, "HEY SHERRI, LOOK!! (over THERE!!) and fake like something dramatic was happening...and then just say, "oh, I just did that to get attention....so you'd remember me." Or you could just give them a little plastic toy. They like little stupid figures or buttons or cool, stupid things. If you did that, they'd think it was cool. Or you could walk up and say, "what's Gwyneth Paltrow like?" And they'll talk your ear off... or, how about, "what was it like touring with Coldplay?"...or, "is it true that you're dad has a rubber arm that he keeps in a jar by the door?" _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Is it ok if I get your attention by poking you guys at random? That's kinda my thing... "yeah, so I heard about you guys a year ago (poke) but it wasn't until may that i first heard the music at gypsy tea room (poke). Y'all were really awesome, ofcourse you always are(sucking up)(poke)." "Wow cool! thanks. We like gypsy tea(poke) room....(leave)" "(cry)" _________________ If the end of the world has proper noodles I'll probably be okay with it. |

I can't wait to see that Brand New/Eisley show at the Gypsy Tea Room. I can't make it out to the North TX music festival dang it. On to the subject of the "approachability" of the band...I think that they are all very nice...including mom and dad. They never groaned whenever I took pictures with them....no matter how silly my ideas were. _________________ Hello my name is CHRIS and... |

I'm not really shy about approaching people, so I don't think I'll have a problem going up to one of the band to see them. My concerns lie with whether or not I will miss my opportunity to, then I'll have to wait till they come back to Ohio to meet everyone. That wouldn't be good. I guess I'll have to get there really early and wait outside the venue on Vine Street with the prostitutes and drug dealers. So if you happen to see a dark haired 17 year old with an Eisley shirt on standing among shady figures, that's probably me. _________________ I think that it's brainless to assume that making changes to your window's view will give a new perspective.

Oh man ... I'm so shy sometimes. And other times I'm so fearless I'll do incredibly stupid stuff and not care. It just depends on the day, I guess. It's good to know other people are like that. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
