okay, so i was at the show last night in philly. it was good show, i saw some cool people, blah, etc..

what i'm really here to do is take care of some business.

1. garron

i had never met garron before, but he proved himself to be a truly worthy succesor to jon wilson. we threw down for 5 minutes or so about necks and pickups and such. anyone who can keep up with a gear geek such as myself in an equipment discussion gets cool points in my book.

+5 cool points

2. mark

i told him he looked like philo from uhf. he said that was the nicest thing anyone ever said to him about his appearance. definite cool points there for having such fine taste in movies.

+5 cool points

3. weston

after the show, weston was taking some pictures of himself on his camera phone "in case he ever forgot his identity." the lighting was bad, so he shined a flashlight on himself to make up for it. cool points there for his photographic sensibilities.

+5 cool points

4. luke

luke was supposed to remind me to by a t-shirt before i left. he forgot. bummer.

-5 cool points

5. john

he's a swell guy. that's all i got.

+5 cool points

6. chauntelle

two words: breathing fire.

+10 cool points

7. boyd

boyd didn't know "optimistic" off the top of his head...i had to sing a few lines to get him to pick up on it. however, it's sort of excusable since it was late and he was running off about an hour of sleep.

-5 cool points

however, i was wearing my frodus t-shirt, and not only did he know frodus, but he also had one of their records. face it kids, boyd has better taste than you.

+10000 cool points

8. sherri and stacy

okay, so i had seen a few comments about "many funerals" being a cool song. however, NOBODY MENTIONED IT CHANGES TIME SIGNATURES SOMETHING LIKE 6 FREAKIN TIMES!!! since when was eisley a math rock band? that's beyond awesome. if the new record has more songs like that, i'm probably just going to give up listening to non-eisley bands altogether.

+999999999 cool points

so there you have it. and if you're not on this list, you're obviously not cool Rolling Eyes

i used to distribute cool points. but it got tiresome. everybody wanted them, and for the dumbest things, but being the nice person i am, i distributed them. and then ... i gave a cool point for someone using the proper form of "there/their/they're" and i realized it had gone too far. that is something every sane, intelligent person should do automatically! so i stopped with the cool points.

but i like yours. they're grand.

Actually, now that I think of it, I once received an equally cool comment about my appearance when I grew out my chops, and a friend mentioned a similarity to Martin Van Buren. Well, maybe not quite as cool, but almost. If I could become a cross between Philo and Martin Van Buren, I would be the coolest guy ever.

Oh yeah, Many Funerals is the best song ever, supplanting Sunfeet.

I'm kind of sad because I'm not on the list... But yes, Many Funerals is just plain incredible. If I've ever heard perfection, that is probably it.

Changing time signatures? Best news ever.

And could anybody be as big a gearhead as me?

to me all songs are technically in 1/1 time( my piano teacher would probably reject this theory.)

i concur. math and music work together wonderfully,

There's a new song?

Where the bleep was I?

I MUST get myself to an Eisley show. Except that I live in the middle of the Canadian nowhere.

Aww.
