I'm cold, even wearing Weston's jacket - out on this roof overlooking a Seattle skyline...on the deck on the roof directly over the studio - just outside our condo apartment located in the same building. It's late and I'm tired, but I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, so I thought I should say hi and spew a few chunks at you guys. Firstly, I did spent much time trying to go back in time and pull images from last weeks session at Rosewood with Dan, but, again, it's getting super late and I don't have time to post them. I also have new images from this week, but I have the ep cover hanging over my head like a hot lead balloon. Time is running out for me. Alas, I must sadly leave my post at the forum (note, no entries yesterday) and refrain from delivering all the journaling and images for the past week. I WILL, however, post them when I return home if deadlines are met this week on other fronts. This is the busiest I've been. The week is going great. Marvy Things is sounding extremely marvelous. Again, we're at some really amazing studio that is owned by Tooth and Nail Records; Aaron Sprinkle is amazing....the song is sounding so great. I'm not joking. (would I joke over a think like this?) I'm shivering now. I have to go in now. boyd _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. Speaking of the Drang, Jeff just came by the studio; seems that Kyle (of the drang) got married up here in Seattle, so he's down visiting...we'll probably go hang with him and his buddy tonight or get a bite to eat; And maybe someone posted it, but I haven't; anyway, Dave of Pedro stopped by the studio when we first arrived in time for us all to go eat and hang together. What a nice guy...not just sorta nice; Dave ranks a 9.98 on the kind, nice, good hearted guy scale. Conversations were non-stop for probably 2 hours that never lulled... he's a listener, a teller, he's hard-core humble...true-blue, an endearing character I was impressed. We saw his show at the Gorge in Washington and he saw Eisley's show with the Lips...and, well I guess their regular show that day. So, anyway...there was lots of love. For those that don't have "Control" - Pedro's new record, you should get it. He has a great way of making a point lyrically....but the production is wonderfully minimal, the mix is Aaron Sprinkle...the songs are warm, soulful, addictive. Now I feel even better about this band. And...oh, the Drang. Pedro and Ester Drang did a national tour recently and Dave really loves those guys - as do we. oh, my gosh... Marvelous Things is....I can't describe; no words. This is a whole new level. (when I say a whole new level, I mean...like, it's literally the next plain that heretofore has been unreachable. I think Thom York will hear this song eventually....and that's when he'll look in his rear view mirror (on his pirate ship) and the fog will clear and he'll begin to see a little band closing in on him...and it'll be eisley, sailing across the pond on their Piro-640 Scooner with a battle-axe, Skull rostrum (the pointy thing)...with pirate hats and patches over their eyes, and hooks...and they'll be yelling, "arghh, Thom York!...show down, we wanna talk...that's all mate'!!" And he'll pull over and get out and say, oh, it's eisley the pirates. 'ello mates, ok...ok....I give, you can go on a tour with us...you black-bearded bloats." And they'll say, "blimey mate, we wuz gonna blast you into the deep with our iron oar cannon orbs...an' make shark food for the lot of em'." I can say these outlandish things because...."THIS...is my xanga". _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. "Speaking of the Drang" i wore my lovely Ester Drang T-Shirt today and it seems that they have quite a following from the Cornerstone tour and apparently from the Pedro Tour as well. everyone thought i was the stuff with my slightly too small white and baby blue t-shirt (my mommy said it was a girls shirt, i just say its emo) pirates, thom yorke and eisley all in one story... you should get a pullitzer prize. |
