Although I know better, for some reason every time I start singing Marvelous Things to myself the words come out:

"I swallowed a rabbit, through rose & mermaid entwined shrubbery"

I think learning the tongue twister 'rose & mermaid entwined shrubbery' left me with no brain cells to distinguish between followed & swallowed.

Who else has any songs they habitually sing the wrong lyrics to?

The all time classic is Jimi Hendrix's, "Scuse me while I kiss this guy".

I would mix that line up too, I would go "I followed a rabbit, through rows of mermaid entwined strawberries"

There are probably tons of other songs I'm singing wrong. Oh well. I'll have to get my lyrics straight.

Ditto.

I actually like the mention of strawberries there - it's such a gorgeous line. I'll keep singing it that way.

I always thought that was the line in Marvelous Things, too, haha.

I always thought that Patrick (Fall Out Boy) was singing 'heavy on those peppers that I fed you everyday,' when the line is really 'the hand behind this pen relives a failure everyday.'

I think I should get a good hearing aid for Christmas...

every time i listen to Hats i want sherri to say
"i love the way your hand fits so nicley in my mouth" i have no idea where it came from .

the very first time i heard marvelous things i thought she said
"mermaid ate swan strawberry" but i knew she could not have said that lol

in that taking back sunday song I thought the line was like "your lipstick is butter toned color, angel I know exactly what goes on"
just so happens to be something like
"your lipstick his collar, don't bother angel, I know exactly what goes on"

its all in the commas really...

I actually was convinced that sherri said thumpthing instead of something in the beginning of "PLenty of Paper" but yeah I know its totally not that now!

Hah. I haven't ever thought about that one....... oh no..... i'm never going to feel the same about that song again. Oh well. Actually, there's really no way to tell the difference. That's it. I'm singing "kiss this guy" from now on.

in plenty of paper i always thought it went "10 stars on stakes and placed them in a small meadow, then again i gave the other half..." instead of "10 stars on sticks and placed them in a metal bucket..."
and i also thought it was "imposing on romance" instead of "composing our commands"

It's hard to beat my brother's interpretation of Marvy Things.

"I followed a rabbit through roses and lots of twine strawberries"
