 Post subject: sick duprees?Posted: Thu Apr 06, 2006 10:52 pm 
what is going on with the girls?? how ill are they? what kind of illness do they have? i am hearing about fevers, and throats. do they have strep? i am worried about them! how are they doing?? |

Chauntelle is the only one of the girls still sick. I talked to her last night, she was still feeling pretty bad. Mark, (their soundguy), is still coughing, but says he feels ok. Hopefully there won't be anymore relapses, or anyone else coming down with it. They are all taking airborn, and Vit. C, and zinc, gargling with Listerine, and using hand sanitizer, but what ever the stuff is that they've had, is pretty determined, and the van probably needs to be sterilized by now! I told Chauntelle that they probably needed to take her to a clinic, but Boyd would never think to schedule that in, unless I was out on the tour, and kind of forced the issue. We usually don't rush out to doctors anyway, but sometimes it becomes necessary. I'm trying to monitor from home, but that's kind of hard. I can't really see how sick they are, or what action needs to be taken. I'm going to call her again today to see how she is. Hopefully better than last night. |

moms are so great. What wonderful examples of how mothers should be! I hope I can be like that someday when I'm a mom.... (But wouldn't it suck to have over half your kids plus your hubbie away for a good chunk of the year?) |

Yes, it does, but it is part of the cost that our family counted when they got signed. We "knew" it was going to be hard, and that there would be sacrifices to be made, but we felt strongly that Eisley's music needed the best chance that it could have to get out there, and we were not willing to give up parenting to let that happen. However, thank you for acknowledging that fact. Just because we knew it would be hard, doesn't make the lonely times any easier. I get joy when I hear all the good things that are happening, and knowing that my kid's, (and my husband), are getting to do things that most people can only dream of.

I know this is nothing compared to your family, but one of my younger brothers is graduating from high school and will be moving off to college in New England next. It'll be the first time anyone in our family has "left the fold" so to speak. It's going to be really weird. I think I feel that 'void' that you probably feel all the time coming up on me soon... |
