Well, there were a few disappointing things, but it was a great show. The first thing was that my sister was supposed to be on the guestlist but I guess something happened. It all worked out though because the show wasn't sold out and we scrounged up enough to get her in, as well as my mom and my other sister. I was also kind of bummed that crowd reaction to the opening bands wasn't too great, especially Brighten. There was a group of really derogatory people behind us. They said really nasty things about Brighten in particular as well as the other two openers. Eventually we got annoyed enough that we moved away from them. The sound was better a little further back anyway. I couldn't get good pictures though because I'm only 5'6" and it seems everyone in Seattle that loves Eisley is strictly 5'9" and above. It's a requirement or something. Brighten was pretty good. I like their music and was looking forward to seeing them live. The sound was a little off I think because their vocals cut in and out during a few of the songs, but they performed well. Fair was really good. I liked their set alot. Simon Dawes was really energetic and loud. The reaction to them was better than it was to Brighten and Fair. The lead singer was goofy. I liked him. Finally Eisley came out. The sound was good I think. I knew every song they played except for Taking Control, which was really amazing by the way. The crowd was really into it. Everyone was singing I Wasn't Prepared and got super-excited when they played Marvelous Things. Sherri I think was like "Aww, that's beautiful." There was this one guy to my right who looked really stand-offish and at first I thought he was there just for his friend or something, but when they played Vintage People and Plenty of Paper I distinctly noticed him tapping his foot and bobbing his head and mouthing the words. It was cute. There was a variety of people and age groups there, which was cool. We left during Like the Actors (first encore song) because we were close to an exit and had a long drive home and my sisters were sleepy. |
