The primary rule of the Beale Street Music Festival is:

"The Beale Street Music Festival will be presented rain or shine. Performances may be postponed or cancelled if weather conditions are deemed unsafe."

Tomorrow Memphis's weather is supposed to be showery. 60% percipitation... which isn't BAD. Showers are typical, and sometimes rain can make a music festival more fun... I mean, come on, who doesn't like wearing neon ponchos or whatever they are called and getting their shoes ruined in the mud... but ANYWAYS, I'm just worried that Eisley might not play if it's raining. From what I can see, the stages seem to be slightly, if not at least 75%, covered in case of rain, and as long as there's not lightning or tornados or any crazy weather like that, it should be fine... right?

Someone reassure me, because I'm an extremely paranoid/worrying/negative person and the 100 dollars worth of tickets my family spent pretty much JUST to see Eisley are non-refundable. We're only going to the festival Eisley at 2-3 (I guess), playing first... none of the other bands are very appealing and we have to be home pretty early due to school and work and all that... Sigh. Would Eisley play in some showers, do y'all think?

(By the way, this is irrelevant, but I thought I'd tell you all the family situation... My mother, step father, and step grandmother are all going seperate from me, cause they had weekend-passes, and they plan on seeing Eisley, by personal choice. Also, my two sisters and like 39483948 of their friends booked hotels for the weekend and they plan to be there bright and early waiting to get in for Eisley, too. Finally, my dad's the one taking me and his girlfriend JUST to see Eisley... So even though pretty much my whole family is going in seperate rides with different goals, we might all end up being at Eisley because obviously my family's smart and knows who's good and who isn't! Haha, I thought that was/is pretty neat. My dad singing to Plenty of Paper or Treetops (his favorites) live will be hilarious.)

The band/Boyd seems a tad bit annoyed about the Festival. I can understand why they want to go home, but us deep southanese people need love too.

They need to realize that the majority of the people going to see them in Memphis are people who saw/couldn't see them in Nashville. The people in Nashville got their first show cut short due to the fire marshall thing. I hope they at least pretend to smile for us.

I drove 6 hours last time. This time I drove 10. Show some love.

I dunno. Boyd's last post sounds like they're struggling with sleep deprivation, various illnesses and a burnt hand (curling irons should be banned - hats are cool) so if they manage to make it there and play anything it'll be quite an accompishment. Looks like the weather radar is on your side though.

I understand what you're saying, but you also got to think that it pretty much sucks that they had to be like two hours away from their home yesterday and then have to leave that very night to go somewhere else. It's like a merciless teaser for them since they probably haven't seen the likes of home for almost more than two months.

Also, I doubt that they're going to be indifferent or pouty while they're playing. They love performing and they love their fans, so I'm sure there will be smiles all around.

Well, the sound system was ticking them off at first, and all of the band looked pretty unhappy and Chauntelle, poor thing, sounded so sick, but once the show got on and they saw that even though a majority of the crowd didn't know them, they saw that the ONES that did were shaking their booties and doing various popular dances that definitely can put anyone in a good mood, along with singing every lyric even to Taking Control, so I'm sure that put them in a good mood. That sentence had so many errors, but I don't care. Sherri looked so annoyed at first but she got smiley soon after. This show was SO great.

The sound was amazing and the heat wasnt bad and it was cloudy so no evil sun to bother anyone. It was great. I believe they did:

Mister Pine
Marvelous Things
Telescope Eyes
Taking Control
I Wasn't Prepared
Memories
Invasion
Plenty of Paper
Golly Sandra
Head Against the Sky
Many Funerals

The set list, from my friend's super stalker radar, actually had 14 songs and ended with Trolleywood, so the cut was unfortunate, but the sound/atmosphere/dancing made up for it. It was great. Sherri still did amazing with her burnt hand, and seeing Chad there singing along made my day. Ryan from Yellowcard was with Chad singing backstage, too. It was neat. I love how when they announced Room Noises songs, a lot of the people hollered and got all excited, but when they announced new songs my friends from Missouri and I were the three only ones who freaked out.

I love my Eisley babies. Some stoner dudes at first were like "Oooh they are gonna rock so hard" sarcastically, but after 3 songs they were like "...I like them. I like how the one girl plays her guitar down low like that!" Haha, it's rewarding to see negative people converted into fans. I think this show helped to create a larger fanbase, and since a lot of Yellowcard and Stain fans were there, that is a good thing (because they are a lot more mainstream and having a more "mainstream" fanbase could really boom things).

I did see my sister, my mom, step dad, grandma, and dad, even though we all went seperate. It was hilarious. I even saw two of my friends from Missouri and a friend from Florida (all boardies) which was LOVELY. I love hugs! And talking to Boyd sufficed (sp) for the band's decision to run off straight home after the show. Poor things, they are worn out.

Now I'm babling, but it was great. Great way to end a tour (well... er.. sort of. It's like the NIGHT after the LAST NIGHT but still.)

Hey, I think I was standing close to where you were. Were you on the second row? I was the girl wearing a striped shirt if you saw me. Anyway, I thought they were amazing. I couldn't believe I was seeing them live! Oh, and I just joined this forum today; actually, I joined it a while back but forgot the username and password. Laughing

Yep, I was the dude in the second row in the teal Hellogoodbye shirt standing next to two short girls in Eisley shirts (one of which has killer hair). Welcome to the forums.

That dude with Superman vision needs to post his pictures from his contra-ban camera. And I wish I had a picture of myself with my killer hair... Cool

I was thinking of something we could do to get their attention during the show, and I completely forgot once we got there: RAISE THE ROOF!! How could I have been so stupid?! We should have raised the roof!!

We strolled Beale Street afterwards and went to the little mall in Peabody Place, got Baskin Robbins on the way home (Sonya got Tea of Tranquility - chai flavored YUM)and were home by 7:30. We even had time for band practice. A great day, sad to see Eisley go. We did see them 3 times in 2 months though!

Holy cow, BR has chai flavored ice cream? On the way home we had the option of Baskin Robins or Starbucks for a treat, and of course I picked Starbucks (and got chai), so either way I won. Razz
