I am impressed with how humble Eisley has seemed to remain through so much success. I hope that it stays that way. I feel like the magic that is in their music is in their humility and vulnerability. All these rock stars who get big ego's and get really into themselves always start making crappy music. I think the trick is that a true artist doesn't own what comes out of them, but instead gives credit to the great creative force within which some choose to call God. That's what selling out is, it's starting to do the music for yourself and believing you own the music you wrote. Nobody owns the music. Eisley's music is just as much ours as it is theirs. It's not the music itself, but what the music relates to in our own hearts which gives it power. Noone can take that away from us. Keep on rocking Eisley! |

Welcome to the fourm...well I guess you've been here for a little over a month now. Hope you stay around. When I want a good laugh I think of Eisley with egos. Stacy bjorking (yeah it's a new verb, look it up) a reporter. Weston cuttin a fan 50 cent style. But I couldn't imagine any of that happening for a while...at least not until the new album is out. They have been really great with the fans, but with as much success they will recieve with the new album they will slowly (because of safety) pull back little by little (when it comes face to face encounters, I'm sure they'll still be the same with the online community). It's already happened because of understandable reasons. Bands who have fame (yes, eisley as much as you say you deny it, you are famous, you are celebrities (as much as you all hate that word) in the eyes of many) and with a rapidly growing fan base you can only be so open. |

Welcome, and I do enjoy the lack of ego from the Eisley camp, too. I've seen much smaller bands act like bigger rockstars, and it's terrible. There has to be some pulling back, but I do hope they stay open as they can, and don't let a few bad incidents ruin it. They seem to be doing a pretty good job so far, at least. But yeah, I can't see them acting like big headed idiots any time soon. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I agree with the humility part, but... ronschnarr wrote: That's what selling out is, it's starting to do the music for yourself and believing you own the music you wrote. I disagree. Writing for yourself is admirable, and an artist has every right to believe he owns what he wrote. Otherwise, how would we know whom to give due credit for an innovative sound/riff/lyric? I believe the point an artist becomes a 'sell out' is when he is already established and then seeks to further his career by writing for others, not himself. |

I agree. The charm of Eisley is they stay in Tyler like good ole country folk and shop at Target and sing in church. And they come on here a lot and keep close to us. Other bands have never even been on their websites to post. I don't know what cars they drive but I know they wouldn't drive brand new Escalades or anything. It wouldn't fit them even if they could have them _________________ Don't you let them tell you you're an ugly child. They are blind to the beauty that lies within |

I believe the DuPrees have a Suburban (necessary when the household is so large), but none of the band members have their own cars yet. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Looking back it appears I grossly took that out of context. However, not only was my comment from a literal standpoint but it incorporated the fact that there is a lot of bad music out there which can not be explained by a "great creative force". (Because you were wondering.) |

I don't believe at all that eisley will EVER become egotistic rockstars. They might pull back a tiny, tiny bit...but for as you all saying "I don't see that anytime soon.." well, to be honest..I don't see that ever happening. The eisleyans are so sweet and grounded, I don't think they'll ever let that go. |
