I think it will look that way to start with but i dont want Harry to die so i don't think he will!

I can't really decide. I'll see what happens. If he dies, I'm sure it'll make sense. The rest of the series has so far.

i've said it before, a tragic ending packs such a punch emotionally that it would seal these books as an epic series.

Children don't handle death of a hero well. No, he will cheat death a few times for sure, but won't die.

I think the story would be more powerful if he did die, but as already mentioned, I think Rowling must still be sensible of her big child fanbase, and children will much rather have a happy ending.

As open as I am to the possibility that Harry's life might be the sacrifice needed finally destroy Voldemort, I'm beginning to wonder if the "happy ending" of heroes surviving is less cliche than the "death has more impact" ending. Or if they are equally cliche and — in the hands of a good writer — would have the same impact.
