We are seeing the slow death of the compact disc. Record stores are closing down more and more as Internet music sales are growing.

So whast your opinion, is this a good thing or bad thing. Are you for the compact disc or do you think all music should be bought on the internet.

Discuss.

I prefer real CDs, but there are several instances where I'd buy (and do buy) electronically.

I have to have the physical cd. I spend too much money on CDs. When I like something I _have_ to buy it, even if I have an illegal electronical version of it.

I prefer a product but everything is going to turn into downloading soon as it will cutdown on piracy.

Electronic signatures that only allow downloads to be put on 1 computer and 1 other device. Coming to a future near you... big brother

I prefer the CD.

I do both as the situation dictates; they are not mutually exclusive. If I can't find what I want at a store for $10 or less, I get it on iTunes. I like packaging, but not enough to pay what the RIAA thinks I should pay for it.

I would so be for that. Laughing Granted, I got the new Concretes single online instead of suffering the dollar's current weakness by paying for the physical disc.

To be honest, I won't buy a CD in shops any more unless it's cheap. Amazon marketplace and play.com are the zones. I get CD's brand new for £6. Shops just can't compete with those kinds of prices.

I used to work in a second hand record shop and watching go bankrupt was heartbreaking.

I always by the actual cd, unless it's like an iTunes exclusive.

I always go for the CD. If I can't find it in town I can almost always find it on amazon or ebay.

I like to have my own CD's. I have yet to buy anything on iTunes, and if I ever do I'm sure it'll be because I have searched hopelessly with no luck.
