The link won't work ... but my guess is that the writer had to finish the release before the date was cemented, so a fill-in date was used, but never corrected down the line. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I am in meeting and can't read - but: STREET DATE IS AUGUST 14th Nothing has changed. That is a press release and pertains to the optimum time when Eisley is in market. _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead. You know, looking at all the confusion, complaints, and freakouts about the release date (I'm not accusing anyone in this thread of doing that, by the way), I can't help but think that we've all seriously lost perspective about this. Every band suffers through delays and setbacks on their albums after they're recorded. The difference is, most fans have no idea that a date the band may have set has been moved back by a month or more, because those bands don't communicate as freely as Eisley (through Boyd) does. It's strange and saddening that a wonderful thing like Boyd's desire to give the fans all the latest information can result in a backlash of people dissing WB and whining about how they just can't take another postponed release date when, under normal circumstances, they wouldn't even know it had been postponed at all. Everyone take a deep breath. Combinations will be here before you know it, whether it be August or September, and you won't even remember the oh-so-terribly-agonizing wait you had to endure before its release because you'll be too blissed out on the music. Then, one day, you'll see your old posts and feel very silly indeed. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

I'm pretty sure to every word of that. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Interestingly, I've found that since Boyd provided us with all the tour date information, I'm entirely pacified in waiting for the album. I feel like I could wait for months and months since, as you suggest, I know it'll be fantabulous when I finally do get it. Also, having a tracklist and album cover makes it feel like the release is a whole lot closer, which helps. _________________

Like the cover, too. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Luke's Mom wrote: It was my understanding that the release date was set in stone. it was just odd to see a WB press release (widely distributed) which had the month wrong. Facts are facts are facts. Wrong information is wrong information. Call me a geezer. yeah, i'm pretty sure the point of the post was to illustrate that they got the date wrong, not to complain about it being set back. |

Yup, and that's exactly why I put a disclaimer in my post saying that I was not accusing anyone in this thread of complaining about the date being set back. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

If I was a media outlet browsing around I probably wouldn't have read the whole thing (infact, I didnt). It does nothing to catch your attention. Maybe it's just cause I already knew all the information cause boyd does such a good job of keeping us up to date around here |

Also, I'm going to share my opinion from years of newsroom experience: Press releases are boring tripe in general. ha. But like Boyd said, it's written for a marketing target. It's such a tiny thing, so I doubt there's any need to try to cover for it. Also, the date isn't specific, so it's not like it said Sept. 14. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

http://www.harpmagazine.com/news/detail.cfm?article=11399 Press releases are used by writers to jumpstart articles. This is a good one. |
