what is their songwriting process like?
Do they write like just the melody and lyrics (like a lead sheet) or do they do the arrangement and everything at once? Do they prefer to compose everything in garageband or do they write everything "no computers" at first?

i heard john lennon had a nutty style: he would take an existing song, write new lyrics, then he would tack new melodies onto that.

i always wondered whether they wrote melody or lyrics first. like, were their songs poems, with music put to them? or do they sing along with music and think of words as they go?

I have a feeling they do both at the same time. Associating melody and rhythm to words.

I write words first and then think of a tune to attach to it.

man, i'm so glad someone asked this! i always wonder how musicians and bands write their material; and since eisley has such a wonderful way with words and music it makes me especially curious!

the only things i've ever heard them say about their techniques is that stacy and sherri write something then show it to the others and ask them if they have anything to add to it. so maybe someone will go more in depth with this.

I have a feeling they might do anything. maybe have a lyric idea and work it into a song, maybe have music flow through their heads and jam it out then bust some sweet vibes over the top.

We sometimes get leaks or demos of early songs where it's just one of the gals singing and playing chords. I'm guessing that's how most of the songs start out, and are built into a full band arrangement from there.
