Is it me (maybe it is) but both Eisley albums are really depressing to me. I can feel a sense of underlying sadness in both Room Noises and Combinations. Even the 'poppy' 'love' songs seem so gloomy and dark to me. I just get these macabre vibes from most of the songs, especially on RN. Combinations, for some reason makes me want to cry. Especially the later 3-4 last songs. Anyone experience this or am I just weird? |

the song combinations and if you're wondering have the tendency to make me cry but it's because combinations hits home and if you're wondering is just freaking gorgeous. The first time I heard Go Away I burst into tears too. thankfully, I can blame most of this on the pregnancy. But I have to say that I'm pretty sure I'd still get a little misty-eyed even if I wasn't pregnant. _________________ guitarfreak217 wrote: Everyone, listen to Leigh. Well, I wrote a review about it, and yeah, its the last three. I wrote that, well the last song would be a good for like...suicide or for a funeral. In my conclusion I wrote that: Quote: Your insignificant, hollow existence will either be more hallow or you will be overjoyed with happiness. I'm happy, because I found an album depressing enough to love. and Quote: his is a beautiful album. It has a range of emotions in it, from harder songs to ballads. When I first heard it, It was very close brought me to tears. No other cd I have has made me felt that way. Everything is perfect. The harmonies, the rockage, every emotion known to man is in this album. |

Albums have to be depressing for you to love them? _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

suicide or funeral? man, I was going to sing that to my baby. Way to put that idea to rest. _________________ guitarfreak217 wrote: Everyone, listen to Leigh. She knows what's up. theantrider wrote: My jaw hurts and I have an ulcer. That's what spending time with Kylee gets you |

There are maybe a handful or so songs that make me somewhat sad, but I think even those sad songs are uplifting at the end of it. The majority of Eisley songs put a giant smile on my face. But, everyone interprets songs differently! [I love those novelty candies!] _________________ I lay in the grass and I lose your scent. |

You aren't weird My Blackened Crown. It probably depends on how you view the music/words. For instance, one person's "depressing" might be another person's "beautiful." Like "A Sight to Behold" (since you mentioned the last three tracks)...the words are uplifting, but the music can make one person feel excited and amazed while it can make another person feel agitated or sad. I pay more attention to the music and don't personalize the lyrics with my own experience, so I fid most of their stuff full of emotion, but in a good way. So how you feel about it depends on how you look at/experience music I think! Doesn't make you weird. Though kinda stinks if it ruins your enjoyment of the songs. Edit: Well..."If You're Wondering" for a funeral? hmmm... Maybe if you take that song in a spiritual sense.....And then it could be a hopeful message? I guess... |
