before i start, please know that the dings are a bell starting the match. that said, AHEM: this really is pointless, but i have to say that ive been kind of comparing stacy and sherri's songs over the last two lp's (i assume that they were written by whomever by who sings the majority of the song as well as what the lyrics look like- sherri's being very literal and stacy's more abstract). for room noises sherri brought some great new stuff to the table (my lovely, plenty of paper, etc.) and stacy didn't so much (dont get me wrong, golly sandra is phenomenal, but everything else was on the ep's...). now after listening to combinations, i have to say that stacy blew sherri out of the water!!! i mean, who DOESNT put on their cowboy boots when "ten cent blues" comes on? and my steering wheel has "come clean" to thank for me spanking it so much! dont even get me started on "go away" and "i could be there", i wouldnt stop. i guess im just trying to say that stacy stole combinations AND AH LOVE IT. i know im just a scrawny dude with a matching opinion and i dont mean to start any war or hatin' on the forum, i was just pondering this and wondered what yall thought... i also gotta say that i cant wait to hear what stacy cooks up next! when's the next lp due??? _________________ love.alex. |

i think there's a lot more co-writing than it seems. that said, i really enjoy both their styles. I know that sounds like such a copout, but Stacy's style is really deep and thoughtful, but Sherri's songs are very straightforward and moving. it's always really refreshing to have both styles weaved in and out of their albums. |

You're great. And took my words. haha. I'm really pretty tired of this Stacy vs. Sherri stuff ... but the above post said it perfectly. P.S. I miss you, Chelsea. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

NO ONE here prefers certain songs to the others? I do, but it generally doesn't favor singer/writer to the other. Some things one does better, and vice versa. Works out nicely, especially since they play to each other's strengths. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

The back and forth is really nice. yeah, and their harmonies. the strong harmonies were one of the main things that first attracted me to eisley. i love songs like combinations and wings and windows where the harmonies are really solid. |

well they obviously sing together on all the songs, i was talkin more about the basic song itself, not the vocal performance. lyrically and melodically, mostly. seems to me that one sibling goes off and writes the song herself, then brings it to the band. regardless of who sings what parts or what the feel of the song is, i feel that stacy's stuff out shines sherri's on combinations. im surprised at how agreeable everyone's being... people seem to be a bit more outspoken when its a post about who's most attractive _________________ love.alex. |
