Historical demographic anomaly

I would have put this in the 'can't find the cd' thread, but you closed it Kim! Anyway, I went into Hear Music on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica (I think you all went there a few times Kim). They had Combinations available only as a self burn cd - no physical copies to be had - for $12.99. The really funny part was that you could buy individual tracks to burn for $.99 each. I pointed out to the clerk that it therefore made no sense to buy the entire cd as all ten tracks (the bonus tracks were not available) purchased individually would total $9.90, for a saving of $3.09. Then I started to feel myself slipping into the looking glass when he proceeded to tell me that the store would not allow you to purchase all ten tracks individually - you would have to leave one out. I then asked what was to prevent me from buying 9 tracks and then simply buying the tenth thirty seconds later. He said "nothing, I guess.."

Any wonder this business is going down the tubes?

On a happier note Barnes and Noble two blocks down had both the cd and the cd/dvd - one each.

That's really weird. You should have been all "I produced this album! *elbows dude in face* I'll buy 10 tracks at once if I want. Skank."

Laughing Too funny. I like the idea of those machines, particularly in an age where albums are usually only bought for one song, but they aren't terribly practical.
