I have to say, nearly-ish one month on from mine and Eisley's trip to London... I had the most amazing time. Astonishing, really, considering i was away for two and a half days. I was only in London for about 42 hours, 14 of which was spent sleeping. This will be/was my only holiday of the year. But the gigs! Oh my gosh! I remember the first night. That was one of the top notch gigs i've been to ever. The band were tight, the crowd were loose, sound was good. where on recordings/in glasgow, Sherri spoke far too fast and near the mic, meaning you only got a DJ-esque mumble, I could hear her speak! Promises of the distortion squat... Flawless except Ten Cent Blues, but that's more than alright. I don't mind it at all when bands screw up. It shows they're human. And, it was great to meet other Scots. I think I remember Chad G walking in the loo whilst us scots bantered there, but he was probably a mate of someoneelse. a lookalike. The second night. It's a blur... I it kinda feels like it was just a rehearsal, and we were the lucky few who got to sit in. The band were so relaxed. The banter was top-notch. Here's some "you had to be there" quotes from Penguin/me/the band from during their set. not in chronogogical order. penguin: MARRY ME NOT ADAM! Chauntelle: *laughs* Penguin (to me): I think that worked... Sherri: Can i get some more moniter in my whatnot? me: can i get some distortion squat now? Sherri: oh... he's back! Penguin: UMBRELLA! me, sarcastically: eh... oh... Stacy: I like that song! Sherri, pointing at me: was it you? someone asked for this last night. me: it wasnae me! I asked for the distortion squat! (note: that's not funny at all. I remember it 'cause a) i actually used "wasnae", and also because i was denying i had done something quite good, which wasa asking for HATS) someone of the band, refering to setlist, on which Boyd had done something mental: hey, who wrote this? someone else: Boyd! me/hopefully some others: *turns around toward the back and boos*. (i actually saw Boyd turn around at this point ... me, after the second attempt at starting Ten Cent Blues: GET OFF THE STAGE! me: i love you really. penguin: i love your ma! that's all i can remember. Alot of the time was spent making "yer ma" jokes and high-fiving, which i can't remember in detail. I really should take a picture of the setlist and upload it. I'm afraid it's a boring one. _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she?
