Montage of Heck - It struck some nerves, but was more about creating understanding than grief. Life Itself - I cried quite a lot during the last third of the film. It may not resonate a much for those of you that are pretty young, but for any of you who were at least approaching your teens towards the end of the 90s, and were remotely aware of Siskel & Ebert, and got to watch their show or talk show appearances etc, it will break your heart in the proper manner a heart should be broken. _________________ yup, that's my name. Jack Reacher Masterminds The Magnificent Seven 2016 The Accountant DARYL An American Tail The Big Bounce I liked Inception a lot when I saw it in the theater. I later bought the DVD for $5 because it also came with movie money. Still haven't watched it a 2nd time for some reason. _________________ I am Torgo. Dr. Strange - Well done, nothing mind altering. Arrival - Well done, nothing mind altering. Also, do not see if feeling in any way sleepy. _________________ yup, that's my name. I hear ya. This year has had a lot of good, solid above average movies, but nothing much that really just blows me away. Most (all?) of my favorite directors didn't put out anything this year. Most don't even seem to have anything in the works that have been announced. I think Scorsese has one soon, but I have no idea if it will go wide. I am hype for Rogue One, no doubt. I saw The Arrival and Fantastic Beasts. |

These days I get most of my movie info from youtube via Morning Movie News. I don't agree with every take she has on things, but usually it's good information and insight about things going on in film. https://www.youtube.com/user/BeyondTheTrailer/featured Tends to be a taciturn and gloomy time of year in the midwest, so when the movies match up with the weather around this time of year it's incentive to stay home. Rogue One's second trailer got me amped up for it in a way I wasn't before, outside of the goofy inspirational speech parts. Hopefully it delivers on its potential. The downside is that the potential of new characters makes me less excited for them doing movies about younger versions of old characters like Han Solo or Yoda. I'm 100% for moving forward with the narrative or taking it to altogether unfamiliar places with unfamiliar faces. Been visiting my mom and she's been on a movie kick, picking movies based on little more than the lead actor on the promo art.
