So, I need to decide if I should go to school today.

Arguments for:
- I may learn things
- Skipping is bad
- I've already skipped one of today's classes once before
- When my friends take notes for me they always suck

Arguments against:
- I don't want to go
- I'm really cosy in my pjs
- My creative writing teacher knows less than I do
- My creative writing teacher may make us read our poems in front of the class (again!)
- My philosophy of art teacher is also pretty dense
- My friends can take (albeit crappy) notes for me

So what should I do?!?!

If you're looking to an internet forum for justification you've already decided. Cool

Hahaha, sooooooo true. I also texted all of my most slacker friends to get their opinions.

Hmmm, not sure yet. Probably watch some movies and relax. I'm in a really lazy mood. I might try to force myself to do some homework later, to help decrease my guilt about skipping.

uess what I'm doing right now?
I'm "sick" from school... and I have more to do than you, which qualifies you as good to stay.

Skipping is a detailed science. A calculated risk. A zen philosophy. At least when done properly ... I guess in college, the biggest thing is not to skip too much. You have to save it for a sanity break.

If you feel like you won't miss anything major, and you don't skip much anyway, go for it.

That said, all of this was for college. I don't really condone skipping in high school as much. Maybe that one perfect day a year. But then you screw up your attendance and then miss possible benefits. Unless you've already missed ... then maybe one day is a good idea.

You've probably made you're desicion now but...anyways.
I have had this problem way too many times. And i do feel guilty about doing it sometimes, but i think sometimes I have no choice. Particularly in my Media class last year. The teacher was a total n00b, so I just skipped most of the lessons. I still managed an A* for the final exam though.
My opinion: If you're really tempted to skip, and you know you're not gonna learn anything, then go for it Very Happy. Plus you said you're cw teacher is a dumbass anyways. You can catch up quickly by the internet these days. But yeah, i'm totally with you about the missing classes when you know you have to read/give a presentation to the rest of the class or something. I hate all that. Very Happy. Personally, bunking got me through my last year of school.

Skipping every now and then is alright. Plus if you get to salvage some notes from a friend that's even better.

i sometimes skip my 8 am because it's a history class and it's all stuff i've already learned. also, the teacher doesn't take attendance unless like half the class isn't there, and my friends are all nerds like me and take really detailed notes.

I'm in cegep actually, which is a Quebec-only thing. We have high school from grades 7 to 11, and then cegep for 2 years, and then 3 years of university. It's only about $100 CAD per semester, so it's really cheap. My high school was much more expensive.

Cegep? Is that like a halfway house for college?

Well, if you didn't go to school today, neither did I. Don't feel bad about it. I skip class like three times a week and I don't feel bad about. I will when I'm on academic probation next semester, maybe. My school was cancelled today fifteen minutes after my class was over, but luckily I had skipped anyway.
