He was a friend of Too-Short's and there were a few good songs on there, but they had a beef and then Too Short and Ant Banks came out with some really harsh dis records and Pooh-Man was history... Wow, behold, the power of the internet and a memory chocked full of useless 90's sub-pop culture. And for the record, I'm from St. Louis, and even I was pulling for the Cubs this year. I was even hoping "the fix was in" for the 100 year anniversary, just so there'd be a feel good story. I have given up all hope on them. I guess some team has to be the but of all the jokes??? Yeah, I was 9 actually. But I'm a Yankees fan because my family are all NYers (and I was a boy growing up), so I've always been into them. Oh yeah I've always rooted for the Red Sox while I was growing up but I'd say it took me all the way until 2003 until I actively followed the team, knew the game past a intermediate level, and watched more than 30 regular season games. Same thing with being a Steelers fan. I've rooted for them since '94 (Barry Foster pass FTL) because my dad was a fan, but I couldn't really call myself an active fan until 2001. That's why I said it's pretty hardcore if you've been an active fan since such a young age, since we both know that's not the case with fans who brag about their teams. |

EDIT: Confirmed Brewers dodged a major bullet there, IMO. Rumor is Brewers final offer to CC was 6 years $140 Million, which is totally nuts for one of the smallest markets in baseball. Yankees went 7 years $160 Million and CC followed the money off to New York. Yankees can afford a bust in 2 or 3 years and eat a contract like that, Brewers cannot and would have been sunk if CC ended up sucking in a couple years (or sucking immediately after the ink on the contract dried, hello Zito). On another note, looks like Kerry Wood may end up in Cleveland. Good luck to him. Peavy deal likely will involved Cubs, Padres and another team (rumored to be Phillies). Hopefully it gets done. Cubs also trying to deal for Ranger Milton Bradley. |
