Maybe Enanitos Verdes will be suing him.

DUDE, that is AWESOME, Forward that to the Editors at Rolling Stone. Or post it on comments! Man, Satriani looks like he's cashing in, just like everybody else when they think they've been ripped.

I think that riff should just be declared a "Traditional" at this this point, with no bound copyrights, in the public domain.

And it's further evidence of that "One Cosmic Song" they tap into (Chris Robinson was the first one I heard mention it loudly enough for me to take note though I'd heard it before).

So, there's Creaky Boards - Song I Didn't Write http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77UgMJBH80I

So 3 is the Magic Number.

My Prediction, Coldplay will win the Grammy for sure now!

Synchronicity at its best, or just sloppily concealed rip offs. Ultimately I like the Coldplay song best.

That would be awesome if all 4 groups played a big melody of all their tunes at The Grammys. Laughing

That mash up shouldn't work as well as it does, but like any hack of a singer, "the guitar is too loud in the mix!" but since I play guitar too "that tone is killer and makes the song". What a fun ride this whole debacle is Very Happy

I don't think the egos at play would jibe on stage... and according to Mr I have several Ibanez signature guitars, it's deeply personal

Is anyone else really hoping that "Viva La Vida" becomes Coldplay's "Bittersweet Symphony"? If it wins a Grammy, Joe Satriani could get up and accept the award for them. And maybe the debacle will lead to Coldplay ceasing to exist for eleven years, then releasing a mediocre comeback album and playing in Las Vegas.

I hated to see that happen to the Verve, but I'd love to see it happen to Coldplay.

I love them. Chris Martin is my future husband. My sister touched him once & got his sweat all over her hand haha... best day of her life, saddest day of mine.

But yeah, I believe their statement.

I can't imagine the guys in Coldplay sitting around listening to Joe Satriani.

Can you imagine them in the studio with Jay-Z? Anything's possible.

I finally got around to listening to Prospekt's March...

Jay-Z rapping over that is so awkward. It's obvious it wasn't a collaboration but tacked on later.

A track or two might have replaced one or two on the official album though.

I've always thought Lovers in Japan is pretty boring. I couldn't believe that is what they played on the AMA's.

I was asserting anything was possible by insinuating Jay-Z was in the studio with Chris Martin and company, and by saying it was tacked on later... that probably didn't happen, thus anything isn't possible. Check, and mate. You trumped me in your sleep. Great Kung-fu.

honestly, i don't know how it went down. the fact that it wasn't included on the original makes me think it was done later though. and other than Jay Z rapping on it it's not different at all that i can tell.

i wonder if they're still planning the second LP soon since they still haven't released the Kylie track that i'm aware of - or did i read about that somewhere? i forget.
