 Post subject: Videos from Highline Ballroom NYC 4/23Posted: Thu Apr 24, 2008 9:34 am

nice videos! could someome please enlighten me as to why certain venues dont allow video or cameras and why they are such jerks about it. i dont get it.. are they afraid someone is going to go out and copy their stage/lighting/venue setup based on some measly video shots? |

most venues in nyc have really mean bouncers and security people. since i came to school i've been going to shows at philly since it's closer and the people are SO MUCH NICER. especially at the place i'm seeing eisley tomorrow. |

Yup, that ONE security guard.. he tried to kick me out, and completely ignored EVERYONE else taking video and singled me and some girl out for whatever reason. I let him know that I'm a security guard too and you can't kick people out for breaking rules you don't tell them exist. If security EVER tries to kick you out without warning you first, don't let them. The thing with security guards is that we try to gain advantage on non security people by making them think that we have more power than we do. They can't come up to you and just ask you to leave over breaking a rule that is posted literally nowhere, they would have to warn you first. They can't touch your property unless you let them. I forgot that fact when the dude made me delete a couple of my videos. It's stupid. I personally would hate the job of ruining people's good times and would atleast be nice about it. It's silly. He seems to love being abrasive and intolerable. I can't imagine how much of a drag it is to hang out with some of those guys. On a lighter note, that was SUCH a great show. It's amazing how much they have improved since last time we saw them. They seemed a lot more comfortable and confident now too. Great, great, great show, and I can't wait to see the next one. New shows, new albums, It's so great to have such a refreshing and truly talented band come along and set the balance straight of what rules and what doesn't. |

i've been to about 5 of they're shows and i haven't met them yet. it's always a long signing line in dallas. |
